A lot of fun!
The media could not be loaded. Pros: This kit was a lot of fun. It’s great being able to see what you can make happen when given a bunch of pieces and free reign to see what you can make happen with that. I purchased the 150 piece kit specifically for the spiral lift as I wanted the ability to to be perpetual (like the original Makeway kickstarter came with). The corner pieces were critical to being able to use it while building a course that spanned my fridge and freezer and still be able to use both (see video). It’s funny seeing how someone said it would be unlikely anyone would have any need for more than the 75-piece kit. I purchased the 150 and wanted a lot more! Cons: The biggest issue is your run won’t always be consistent between runs, which can lead to a fair amount of frustration. Sometimes my run goes perfectly, and then the next run will see the marble flying off the track. The magnets are also borderline in being strong enough for my fridge. Granted, you can use more of the magnet connectors for most pieces to add additional strength (except the corner pieces), but you’ll quickly find you don’t have nearly as many connectors that you want as it is. To pull off the run you see in my video, you can see that I had to use one magnet to hold the ends of two pieces in almost every piece to make them go further. I’m even using catapults and spinners to provide additional track stability, lol. If I had more magnetic connectors, I would have used more on the pieces that take the most impact to keep them from shifting between runs. I was also a little surprised the kit didn’t include even a generic 9 volt, but maybe other people won’t be phased by that. I didn’t have a spare on me so I had to make a special run just to get one. All in all, it was a lot of fun, and I’d love to see an even bigger kit than this with twice as many connectors. Because of the need for more connectors for stability and the ease with which the marble can fly off the track, it’s hard to give this five stars. That being said, don’t let my four star rating make you hesitate to pull the trigger on this, as I haven’t seen a better kit out there for this, and frustrations aside, you’re going to have a blast playing with this. Oh yeah, as as others have said, block the area under your fridge and stove if using this in your kitchen, because you will 100% end up with marbles rolling underneath them, lol.

Takes creativity to a whole new level!
We have a son that is crazy about marbles, marble races, and Legos. This magnetic marble race track set seemed like a good fit. What it does require is a fairly large metal surface or else it’s basically useless. We happen to have a teacher size whiteboard due to our homeschool environment. The large surface area of that whiteboard was perfect for him to construct various tracks. Here’s some of the things that we found out with this set: - Assembly of a track does take some time. You have to snap pieces of the track to the magnets, and then place the pieces on the vertical surface. If you test as you go (which I would recommend), you’ll find that the smallest adjustment greatly effects the success of your run. - The magnets don’t seem extremely strong. They can get shifted easily after a couple of runs. But adjusting and maintaining is kind of the fun in it. - Due to the fact that this is a vertical marble track, there is a greater chance of the marble getting lost. Especially if you actually do use the front of a refrigerator for a track. You will want to prevent the marble from falling and rolling under the refrigerator. - There’s a decent amount of pieces to make a good variety of tracks. Unless you have a significantly larger surface to work with, you probably won’t need a bigger set than this. Overall, this is a great idea and it was a nice change to work with a vertical surface instead of the many we have that go on the floor.

Fun project

Fun for kids
Will be using this in a STEM class. It should be fun, but some of the pieces are thin. I hope they don't get broken.

Have way to capture marbles.
7 year old grandson had fun with configuring this game. But you need a way to trap marbles. Lost a few under refrigerator. Put towels down to trap marbles .

Fun for all
I cleared off the side of my fridge and we played with this for a long time. It’s definitely a problem-solving task, so my perfectionistic child hates that the marble slightly moved the track as it goes, and you have to “reset” some of the components after you run a marble. He wanted it to work exactly the same way 100% of the time, and it just doesn’t. Which I think is the learning part of this game. The design of this is good and I like how easy it is to set things up. Great, screen-free activist for our 7 and 9 year olds.
