Pretty!
Arrived in one piece and not broken like some reviews said. I can tell that it may be a little flimsy so just being careful with it. But overall it works!

A very good, sturdy frame - issues were in packing
I have several pieces, prints and original art and craftwork, that I’ve felt deserve Display status. A frame like this, simple in is structure, minimalist in design, is ideal for this purpose. When you look at it, you see not the frame, but what it is framing. Like all Good design, that’s the highest tribute that can be made to it. Now, in the mundane (by comparison) areas of packing and shipping, there is another story. Are they unknowledgeable? Uncaring? Really new at the job? I don’t know, but the “protective” packaging was a joke, and the first frame I ordered arrived with the glass Busted. Not even Broken: Busted! So I requested a replacement, and that one arrived intact. I don’t know why, as the packing, while Marginally better, was not so by much. But I have my first frame, and now I’m happily contemplating the composition of my intended Display area, including mat choices (I appreciate having one provided, but the odds of it being the exact size I need are - well, I don’t know. But there Are odds!), and other minor decisions. Sigh! This is very nice.

Beautiful frame with mat
This is very well crafted - metal frame with a pre-made mat. It is a sleek design and works with most decors. The only issue I have is that the packaging is awful on this - huge box, thin bubble wrap - the glass can break so easily as the frame is just bouncing around in the box.

Copper-colored, not “gold” at all
Sturdy, and the thin frame looks sleek. Unfortunately the color they describe as “gold” is very much orangey-copper; unlike the photos.

Shows like a musuem-quality frame
First things first: This was incredibly well packed. Thick bubble wrap over thick bubble wrap over thick bubble wrap over mini bubble wrap. The frame is substantial, sturdy, but not heavy. The black metal finish looks very attractive. The glass is glass: reflective, not matte or non-glare. The back of the frame is very securely held on by a number of clips that slip tightly under the lip in back. (See my photos—I wish they had come out better.) I chose to order this 16 x 20 frame matted to 11 x 14 for a very beautiful photo, taken by a friend, of one of my most cherished dogs who passed on some years back. I’d had the photo professionally processed at 11 x 17, and it was in a very basic and inexpensive frame. I thought both the photo and the dog deserved better treatment. It was very easy to put the picture over the mat, though with the back on, it slipped a bit (I may not have secured the back when I held it up to make sure it was within the mat), so I taped the edges of the photo to the back of the mat and fastened it back up. I guess, because of the size of this frame, the backing does not just have one eye hook in the center (either horizontally or vertically) but hooks at three corners. You could measure the distance between and put two nails in the wall, but that takes more vertical and horizontal precision than I’m very good at, and the frame would undoubtedly hang crookedly. The professional way to do it is to use wire between the hooks. It would have been helpful if the frame came with some wire, but I was very fortunate to rummage through my toolbox and find just enough picture wire to string between the two eye hooks to hang this vertically. Well, maybe I’m making this sound like more of a production than it would be for most people. It wasn’t really difficult at all (but picture wire will come in handy). Once hung, the beautiful photo of the beautiful dog in the beautiful frame really looks like a work of art. This frame and the mat really bring out the photograph and make it look gallery quality. I now feel bad that photos of my other doggies (at the Rainbow Bridge and on the wall) don’t have equal treatment. I may have to get some more of these frames! I'm very happy with this Mikasa frame.

It's a nice frame, but I don't feel like it is overly sturdy.
For a Mikasa I did expect the frame to feel a little thicker and sturdier. I know others have mentioned it is sturdy, and it is, it's just not anything more than some of the frames I could pick up for less. The metallic gray has a nice look to it. The back is nice in that it has two triangle supports so that you can hang it so it is oriented vertically or horizontally. I did have a bit of a difficult time getting the back off, but that wasn't a big deal. It's kind of a large frame and matting for such a small picture, so I opted to get my own matting and putt a larger picture in it. All in all, it's a nice frame, but I just feel it's comparable to most other frames despite being a Mikasa.

Attractive and solid frame, but a little tough to open the back
This is an attractive and solid frame, with enough heft that I'm glad it has TWO hanger clips on the back for horizontal hanging, and another two for vertical hanging, so the weight can be distributed a bit. Note: the frame has triangle ring style hangers, and NOT the sawtooth hangers mentioned in the product description. Another frustration for me was that the tabs that hold the back into the frame were very hard to turn to release. This isn't something I'll have to do very often, so it's not a dealbreaker.

Attractive matted frame
I’ve been compiling a variety of picture frames to eventually use on a gallery wall. I ordered the 8x10, matted to 5x7, metallic gray frame. It is as described with a bright white mat. The design is clean and fairly minimalist. The metal has a very subtle texture but is not brushed and is slightly darker than the typical nickel/silver, hence the “metallic gray” description. The back has a variety of hanging options as well as an easel. I think Mikasa makes nice picture frames and this one is no exception.
