Great replacement slip-on tub spout.

This is a nice brushed nickel moen tub spout. It’s a slip on so you don’t need to have a soldered male threaded fitting, this just slips over 1/2 inch copper and you use an Allen wrench to tighten it from the bottom. It says the minimum length is 3 1/4” but the copper valve coming from my customers wall was only 2.5” and it still worked great. Took about 30 seconds to install. Highly recommend.

Perfect replacement so far

The diverter broke on my old one. I called a plumber out and they couldn’t get or wouldn’t get the correct replacement and couldn’t get it working without it leaking. They were already out two times and I was getting upset that they had to come out a third time. I ordered this and replaced it in under 10 minutes. No leaks and looks correct for my shower/tub

Direct fit, but still leaked

Bought to replace a leaking diverter valve that i couldn't get to stop dripping. This was an exact replacement. Diverter valve leak saw significant improvement, but still was present, even after removing restrictor from shower head

Easy install!

Easily attaches to open copper pipe. Seems water tight. Hopefully it holds up for years to come.

Nice Spout: description / instructions a mystery

I used this to replace an expensive Kohler Alteo diverter that I could never get to divert without leaking or humming. This one works great. Barely a few drops of water come out the tub spout when the diverter is engaged. it is nice looking also - the color matched my chrome Kohler mixer handle. The measurements on the Amazon description are wrong ("3.75 x 4 x 4 inches"). The spout is 7 inches long and the water outlet falls about 6.5" from the tub wall. This is nice because it throws the water a little farther away from the drain control knob on the tub - which will never seal perfectly. The installation instructions from the company, and from a tiny piece of paper in the box, are just bizarre. It says that the 1/2" diameter pipe stub coming out of the wall should be 3 1/4" to 4 1/4" long. Good luck with that. I initially cut mine to 4" - with the spout fully seated you miss the tub wall by at least an inch. After four pipe cuts, I got it to fit properly with a pipe stub length of 3". The spout is slip fit - there are no pipe threads - it seals with a set screw. If your existing pipe stub is not the perfect length, don't install this with a hack saw. A small $15 copper pipe cutter gadget and deburring tool are worth every penny. You will need your own Allen wrench, a marker, a measuring tool, and some caulk / silicone. Installation was not that complicated once I got done scratching my head and staring at it.

Tub spout

Diverter valve in existing Moen tub spout went bad. Moen does not have a replacement part for just this and since I’m not the original owner of this house I had to pay an outrageous price to get a new tub spout. Tried after market diverter part, Lowe’s, Home Depot but did not work. The new spout did go on easily and diverts water to shower but don’t know how long this tub spout will work

Installation instructions wrong

Seems expensive for what it is. Biggest problem is installation instructions are wrong. Pipe cannot be longer than 3 inches. Instructions say 3 3/4- 4 1/4.

Saved me from hiring a plumber!

I put off fixing my tub diverter because I thought I would have to pay a plumber to do it. Then I saw a video on Youtube of how easy it was to install a replacement. This one matches my other Moen pieces and it was very easy to install. You don't even need to turn off the water. No more squealing noises when I pull up to divert water to the shower head and the water flow to the shower head is much better.

Did the trick.

Replaced my existing corroded unit with this exact replacement. Came complete with diverter gate. Loosened and slipped the old one off, cleaned the copper pipe and slipped this new one on. Worked great. Note: the diverter gate can be replaced in your old unit, it's Moen #101237.

Bought in August; stopped diverting by January - ONLY LASTED 5 MONTHS!

Update Jan 17, 2020 : Bought in August; stopped diverting by January - ONLY LASTED 5 MONTHS! Previous review: Solid. Well made. Diverts 99% of water. Only leaks a few drops. Body is metal. Slip on type. 7” length extends past tub ledge so no water splashing backwards.

Better but still leaks water

Our old Moen Tub Diverter leaked lots of water due to the sediment in the water supply corroding the Tub Diverter. This one leaks less but still leaks. I would have preferred a Tub Diverter that does not leak when used in shower mode.
