For this price I expect Made in America not China.

I can see how machinists can complain that Jacobs chucks are not what they used to be 30 years ago. There is enough slop in it that a professional machinist could complain. The complaints I see saying this is Chinese garbage do not compare to what I received. I have a Chinese garbage chuck on my WEN drillpress that I bought this to replace. It is heads above in both quality and finish. For the cost, I can't say that the improved quality meets up with the expectation. If it were still made in America I would say it is worth the price, but it is made in China so it should be much cheaper. Overall, I glad I got it because the garbage chuck is damaging bits and making work harder.

Gets the job done. Made in China. I would prefer an American made product. .003 off center which is within the acceptable range for general drilling on a drill press.

The finish on it looks good is about the only pro's I can say about ...

Chuck didn't come with a key, it's not a smooth feel to have a bearing it. It has sticky rubbing spots when you turn it in and out and you can see the black in the oil from the grinding dust. From the stamping on the back, it looks to of been made April 8 of 2017. must be China made no point of origin on it at all. The finish on it looks good is about the only pro's I can say about it. Not pleased at all, I believe I will be returning it.

Perfect Craftsman 113.213150 15-Inch 5/8" Chuck Replacement

I was searching for a replacement chuck for my Craftsman 15-inch Drill Press after the one that came with the machine became unusable. Unfortunately Sears stopped supplying a replacement chuck. Finding the appropriate replacement was not an easy task. So I wanted to share my discovery. My Craftsman drill press model is 113.213150 with a 5/8" chuck. The arbor is a 2 Morse Taper to 3 Jacobs Taper (2MT to 3JT) Drill Chuck Arbor. This information is nowhere to be found in the Craftsman documentation. This Jacobs Chuck 6223 fits the drill press's original arbor perfectly. The Jacobs Chuck works smoothly and holds securely as expected for Jacobs products. Great value, great functionality and a successful fit for a hard to find replacement.

I own a older Delta floor model drill press. (Model number 17-900). The chuck that came with this drill press always had me in fits because of the opening and closing issues. It felt like there was something binding inside causing me grief trying to open or close the chuck. Finally had enough, took the plunge and got a new Jacob's replacement chuck and arbor for my drill press. Talk about a work of art compared to the one from China!!! USA built and oozes quality right out of the box. While almost double the price of a OEM part, it's quality is well worth the extra money to me.

Just thought I would clarify the COO for those reviewers that note USA in their reviews. Unless the chuck says "Made in USA" on it, it is an import. And several credible retailers do note that this is a Chinese chuck

Used this along with the Jacobs arbor 7308 to replace the chuck in my Jet drill press. I had never been satisfied with the Jet chuck's gripping power, the Jacobs did not disappoint, waaaaay better.

Great Product - Terrible Shipping Packaging

The chuck is excellent quality with good fit and finish. Works exceptionally well for woodworking tolerances. I can't comment on metalworking since I don't use it for that. My problem is with how the seller chose to pack and ship it. IThe chuck was in the flimsy box and the chuck key was inside the oversized bubble packing bag. The chuck being so heavy, came out of the box during shipping and as it was thrown around by the shippers banged and pressed against the chuck key inside the packing bag. This resulted in some rather large gouges and some minor scratches. It doesn't affect the performance of the item however is absolutely unacceptable. An item machined this well and costing so much should be packaged in a way that it arrives in perfect condition.
