Sprinkler Blow-Out Fitting

Rare to find this in other retail store plus time consuming

Before finding this adapter, I had tried many times in other big retail stores in hope to get what I see and try there actually instead of ordering online. This is a little trickier component in connection from compressor to irrigation system which has brass treads (at 45 degrees, didn't realize earlier though). My compressor had regular 1/4" NPT connector and it didn't work to connect to brass sprinkler systems to perform winterization. After many trips to retail store, I gave it a shot on Amazon for this as a first one to try in just a hope and this worked perfectly, saved me lot of time, frustration, online reading and of course trial and error. Perfect!!

Sprinkler system backflow preventer adapter

I ordered this as an adapter for my sprinkler system backflow preventer. I use it to connect an airline to the backflow preventer so it can be winterized. I can blow the water out of the sprinkler system reducing the chance of freezing.

Fits keg gas connect

The Corny keg gas and beverage connects often have a 1/4 inch male flare connection. You need a female flare fitting to connect to it. The big box hardware stores do not carry this fitting and neither do most homebrew shops. I've looked long and hard. This one fits perfectly and allows you to connect a gauge or spunding valve with 1/4 inch pipe threads. It's a lot to pay for a fitting, but I didn't find any less expensive ones anywhere else.

completed my spunding valve assembly

As mentioned by another reviewer, this is the part for completing a spunding valve assembly - connecting the flare end of a homebrew keg CO2 (gas out) fitting to a female pipe thread splitter that can take your pressure gauge and gas relief spunding valve. My English bitter is now naturally carbonating in the keg!

I needed a fitting to line 1/4 npt to 1/4 flare this did the job nicely for compressor fitting
