Great Quality

Great popper to use. Casts very well and far with the right set up. I pair this up with a 10 Foot Medium Tsunami Rod + 30lb braid + Penn 4000 Reel. I like keeping my set up relatively light and this lure works perfect for it. I would suggest attaching a swivel to your line since to reduce line twists as you’re popping this lure.

Excellent bird retrieving lure

This lure is awesome for hunting and retrieving birds. I hunt the canals near my house and do not want the dog to get into the water due to the steep banks. This floating lure allows me to retrieve the birds very easily!

Great old standby for stripers and bluefish

There's a good reason that this model lure has been popular for so many decades. They catch big striped bass and bluefish as well as any top water lure regardless of price. And yeah, they're cheap to boot. Try varying the speed of your retrieve and and the cadence of pops and jerks. Sometimes slow and gentle works best. Other times you can't reel fast enough of pop too hard.

Dorado killer in Cabo

As soon as it landed in front at a dorado chasing a flying fish school, the dorado immediately attacked it. Got action from a lot other fish too. Recommended and effective.

Awesome lure for peacock bass

This is the fourth time i bought this after intensive use with monsters peacock bass in Colombia.... They get destroyed after near a hundred of strikes..... But is durable, is hard, is one of the Best top water for orinoco basin.... I just replace the bended hooks for singles and that's it....

Popper or Spook

A value plug that can be fished like a splash popper or side to side like a spook. I did not expect the walk the dog side to side action like a spook but it works well. Alot of hits using walk the dog method. Hooks not as high quality as other brands but you can replace the split rings and upgrade the hooks after they rust. I mainly target blues with this lure and if a striper takes it even more benefit. Every angler should have this plug in their bag. I use other more expensive plugs and this plug casts just as well, only just the hook/split ring quality difference. If you lose it, not as painful like a $25 lure...this one works don't pass it by because its a legacy value brand.

I like the action on the water but…

…it would be nice if it casted a bit further. I feel I’m able to throw my 1 oz Yo-Zuri Pencil Poppers further than this. Haven’t caught anything with it just yet but based on the action, I’m sure it will catch you fish though. Would have been a 5 star if it casted a bit further, as it lacks in that department for a pencil popper.
