good product, with one "short" coming
This would be a 5-star product if not for two complaints: 1) The pull cord is absurdly short. I'm average height for a guy, with somewhat longer than average arms, and I can't reach the chain on a typical 8' ceiling. I consider this inexcusable shortsightedness, as it's much easier to clip extra chain off than it is to add more length, especially when no extra links or extender clips are provided. Fortunately, I had some lying around. Similarly, not providing the little clip-on "bell" for something to grab onto at the end of the chain is lame. 2) The instructions say to push the wires back into the junction box, which is near impossible to do through the tiny hole in the plastic mounting plate. Doing so would have a high probability of dislodging the wire nuts and creating an electrical danger. And it's entirely unnecessary, as there's room within the light fixture itself to arrange the two sets of wires around the screw-in base. That said, it is easy to install and provides nice, even light output.

Unique install compared to traditional light fixtures. Purchased for laundry closet. Be sure to measure your space for fit. Bit wider than expected and had to make some modifications to space it was to be installed. It would not fit otherwise. Seems to work well and is nice and bright.

Easy to install and bright light. For crying out loud, make the pull chain longer, it's a ceiling fixture and not built for gorrilla length arms!

This looks better than a standard bulb in my utility room, but it's not all the way flush with the ceiling like I expected. There's also a slight delay after flicking the switch before it lights up.

This was a great replacement for a low quality pull-chain fixture that was in our closet when we moved in. The pull chain recently broke and I was looking for a replacement fixture. This fit the bill perfectly. Very easy to install, nice and bright.

Great light!
This is a very handy product for areas that need a bright light. First, you can only install it if you have one of the porcelain/plastic single medium base outlet box mount/lamp holder. These are between $1.99-$9.99 at a hardware store. Think single exposed bulb socket for a ceiling light. The existing outlet mount cannot have a pull chain, it needs to be one that is “keyless” because the new unit has a pull chain integrated. Or, you can mount it direct to the ceiling if you have the Edison bulb conversion piece to attach direct to the junction box. But it’s senseless if you can just do the easy “screw it in” option. You unscrew your old bulb, and screw in the light bulb from this package. The bulb is encased in the plastic mount and shade. It doesn’t come out, but it’s an LED light that should last forever. All the parts you might need to mount it are all in the instructions and easily found at the hardware store. Once I bought the new porcelain lamp holder piece ($6.99) and wired it, the bulb screwed in and it was done in 30sec. It’s so bright! Every corner of the under the stairs closet is lit now.

Great little inexpensive lights
These lights are of an unusual design that theoretically can either be mounted directly on a ceiling electric box, or act as a big bulb that can be screwed into an existing low profile light fixture. My application was the former, but I did just for interest try them in an existing light fixture. Word to the wise, I found that this method did not end up with a nice tight flush mount to the ceiling. Mounting them to an electric box, though, worked fine. If you had a really full spaghetti junction box I could see stuffing the wiring through the small hole in the fixture might be a challenge. I was impressed by how nice and neat the light looked in my first application, pretty nice considering how cheap they are, so I bought two more for large closets in my home. Would one of these light up a full size room? Not really, because the opaque globe cuts down that 100w quite a bit. But for small rooms and closets it is perfectly adequate.

Great for basements
I have a suite in my basement. All the lights turn on down there with one switch. So I have these in two of the light switches so you can turn off some lights when all the lights are on. It was a great solution versus rewiring.
