GREAT alternative for those that hate to sharpen chains.
The Oregon PowerSharp Bar/Chain/Sharpener system is great for people that don't like to sharpen chains. I would probably get motivated on chain sharpening, if i used a chainsaw daily or weekly. But for occasional chainsaw usage, the PowerSharp system works out very well.

Top only
Stone will only dress the top of the blade and not the cutting edge.

A+ Super Awesome
This is the future of chainsaw sharpening. It's so easy and only takes 3 seconds to sharpen your chain. You need to replace the chain and diamond stone together, but the chain has a lot of meat on it. The yellow sharpener will last forever, and the diamond stone inside is replaceable. The Oregon PowerSharp system is by far the fastest and easiest way to sharpen your chan, and file down your depth gauges at the same time. I'll never go back to manual chain sharpening. I've been using the PowerSharp system for a few years, and it is the best way to keep your chain razor sharp--period. Best practices is never hit dirt or earth with your chain, and you won't need to sharpen your chain that often. But if you accidentally do hit dirt, 3 seconds in the PowerSharp system will make the chain as sharp as it was from the factory. PowerSharp is a game changer, and I'll never go back to manual files, or grinders ever again. PowerSharp is magnitudes easier and faster. I upgraded all my chainsaws to the PowerSharp system. This system requires the PowerSharp chain with the inverted chain bevel that is included in this kit. Always replace the diamond stone and chain together. Works on most Oregon chainsaw bars. The yellow sharpening system just needs to attach to the hole in the tip of the bar. Plunge the bar into the stone in the yellow part at full speed, and it sharpens the chain in 3 seconds. Trust me. You'll never manually file a chain ever again after using the Oregon PowerSharp system.

Big time-saver, negligible compromise in cutting efficiency to acheive it
At first I was concerned about a loss in blade efficiency in this new design (surely the inward-only sharpenable blades made their sacrifice for a reason, right?). This was especially on my mind because I use an electric Ryobi 40v (brushless) chainsaw where efficiency matters. Happily though, use of the chain put my concerns aside. The speed it cuts is equal to a high quality normal chain, and the extra drag on the motor was much less than I had expected (though there is a slight but detectable difference in the motor sound and amount of work per charge). The efficiency difference really is easily worth my time or money in new blades, services, or sharpening. Ultimately, because I will be keeping the blade sharp more often, the efficiency is superior (just not right out of the box). Another way I can tell that this is a good chain, is by the shavings it produces relative to other quality chains when new. These are all sizeable and whole without any evidence of over-bite (though I think it is a tad more than the equivalent standard type chain), for as long as the blade remains sharp (which by my standards is still longer than 5 battery charges). If you don't already buy quality chains, this will be the best chain you have owned anyway.

Works pretty well
I was-pleasantly surprised that this actually works. I have an EGO chain saw that i cut brush and other dirty wood with. The chain was dulling too quickly. Switched to this sharpener, and was cutting thru some stumps, and it kept me going. You have to change to the bar provided, as the sharpener would not fit the ego bar ( hole too small). I like it

the seller is AWESOME. Very fast delivery
First thing first, the seller is AWESOME. Very fast delivery. No problems there. Now onto the product --- it's basically junk. My father has been a small engine mechanic for the better part of 40 years. He's seen everything. He's seen the gimmicks, and this is exactly what it is. If you look at this chain, the teeth are actually pitched up a bit to allow the sharpening stone to grind them down a bit to sharpen it. This actually works well, but here are my words of caution: If you only cut wood (and you know you won't hit a rock, nail, or anything that isn't soft like wood), this will probably work OK. When I tested a brand new normal chain to this chain, I could tell the difference, but it wasn't anything unbearable. For the ease of sharpening its a decent compromise. But if you hit anything else with it, there is a very real possibility you knock the teeth right off this chain. I know, because it happened to me. I hit a nail in a 2x4 and the chain became a pile of useless metal. To sum it up ... this is a light duty chain for very light duty work. Hitting anything but wood is basically a death sentence to this chain.

For the rest of my life I will only buy a chainsaw that fits this product
I'm using this on my 40v Ryobi battery chainsaw. I'm never going to sharpen a chain the old way again. If this saw dies before me, I'll make sure that whatever I replace it with can take a self sharpening system like this. Not only is this fast (3 seconds) but it gets the chain way sharper than I could with a file. Whoever invented this system needs to win the Nobel prize for...uh... forestry or whatever category this fits into.

Great concept but not for rookies.
High kickback potential, rookies leave the sharpener on at all times and you'll be safe, haha. Cuts like a full chisel pro chain. Great for repetitive simple cuts such as cutting firewood bucks right before splitting. I wouldn't recommend taking it into the bush or working near the ground. Don't try anything that might damage any individual teeth or you'll have a heck of a time until they've all worn down to the same ones you damaged. Chains are twice the price but seem to be worth it for the convenience (in the right application)

Good Product
I have not installed it yet, but bought it for a new chainsaw. I had one for years on a saw I have given to my son and found it a good product. When my chain got dull it just took a couple minutes to get going again with a chain that cut like new

Chain keeps coming off
Thought it was a good buy at first, but the chain constantly jumps off the bar and is unsafe.
