What a cool wine opening device
I did not know what to expect when I got the Rabbit, but once I read the instructions and used it a couple of time. I discovered what a cool wine opening device it is. It will pull a cork cleanly and smooth from a wine bottle with very little effort. There are not pieces of the cork broken off. Then you can remove the cork from the cork screw smoothly and cleanly. You would think that after 1000s of years of using corks to cap bottles someone would develop an efficient device that would do it easily. Well the rabbit is that device. The only thing I could criticism it for is that it was not offered to me as all metal. That way my relatives could fight over it once I am gone.

The Rabbit makes my wife happy!
Ooops...wrong review. Well this Rabbit did make her happy now that she doesn't have to use the old fashioned bakup corkscrew anymore. Great replacement for the generic Costco one we bought several years ago that finally kicked the bucket. This one seemed like a really good value and offered the free Prime shipping I was looking for. This time around, I wanted to go with the Metrokane version. After destroying a similar product from another manufacturer, I'll do one thing differently: remove the foil before using the rabbit. These will yank the corks right through the foil but I'm certain it shortened the life span. Now I either yank the foil off the neck of the bottle or use the included foil cutter if that tactic doesn't work.

Buy a rabbit type opener, but not this one
I have two rabbit type openers and my parents have one as well. I also have the Oster electric wine opener. The Oster is easy/nice but the grinding electric sound doesn't exactly project elegance when that is the need, you know what I mean. First, I feel I paid $20 more to have a wax remover (only wax remover I need is for my ears) and the dorky drip stopper/bib for wine bottles. Everybody I know knows enough to slow at the end of the pour and do a 1/4 spin on the bottle to prevent drips. The other items...come standard on all others, the foil cutter and extra screw. The 2nd thing is the handles are PAINTED PLASTIC. Horrible material to make a lever out of (you squeeze the handles to keep the bottle in place). Granted you can open the bottle without breaking the handles but I have to be concious about not applying too much pressure. I could easily snap the handles if I wanted to in a second. As it is now, I can feel the handles bend. The other two rabbit openers have metal handles and feel extremely solid and both cost less than $20. My gf did state that she likes this one better though because it's lighter than the other two but I look at it from an engineering/design/quality standpoint. The Pinzon Matte Chrome plated opener is the one to get, unless you want a $20 wax remover...

A great gift
The Rabbit wine opener works just as advertised, although it takes a little more muscle than I originally thought. And what a great conversation piece! The foil cutter makes opening a bottle that much easier. The drip guard, to my surprise, doesn't fall off the bottle into your glass when you pour out the last little bit, as long as you push it all the way down the neck as far as it can go. I haven't had occasion to use the wax remover. The only piece in this kit I don't really understand is the sealer, it hasn't fit on any bottle I've tried yet. But then, I haven't tried it on a bottle of champagne yet, so maybe it will fit for that. The kit comes in an attractive case that stands up, which makes it a great gift.

Great Wine Opener
We received this wine set as a gift 2 years ago and loved it. We used it so much (several times a week) that we actually snapped the handle off, though I don't believe it was due to poor product quality, but instead because we opened thousands of bottles with it and it was bound to give. We liked it so much that we bought the same exact one when it broke. I only gave 4 stars because, of course, it did break. But other than that, it is definitely a good purchase.

This wine opener really "hops to it"!
I first heard about the Rabbit wine opener last winter when a friend told me about how well it works. They were even giving them for Christmas presents. I thought that was a great gift idea for wine lovers and wished I drank wine to warrant one for myself. I just purchased this Rabbit for a gift and my friend is really pleased. I chose the silver model for him, rather than the cool black version. He thinks the silver is really elegant. He raved about how great it works, all the neat accessories, and even the box in which to keep the entire set intact. Maybe I'll start drinking wine after all and get one for myself!

It does the job pretty well
I had an older Rabbit which I loved, but the extraction shaft kept pulling out of the frame. I got this new one and it's not as sturdy, but works just as well. Hopefully it will last as long as my oder one which lasted over 10 years.

It was so easy to use my husband loved it
My husband and I had seen the Rabbit at a friends home. It was so easy to use my husband loved it. I bought him a used one for a fraction of the price of a new one. My husband was thrilled that I saved $$. The Rabbit works great and came in good condition. My husband didn't even know that it was used until I told him.

Good product with only one defect
Bought this after several failures with various Screwpull models. Works really well and it is easier to use than the similar Screwpull wing handled model. The mechanism is smooth and has a good grip and leverage. It gets quite a lot of use here so we will see how it stands up over time. My only criticism is the foil cutter is badly designed since it is too "shallow". It tends to slip off the bottle rather than gripping lower down.

Excellent
Saw this on Breaking Bad and had to have one. Brilliant and no effort to get a cork out but sometimes I end up using a regular cork screw as there more to hand as in I don't have to take it out of the box

Flimsy quality, not that easy to use
The main corkscrew mechanism does not feel solid at all. When placing the corkscrew in the cork, sometimes it slips back out without lifting the cork out, which is annoying problem to encounter (never happened before to me with any corkscrew system). Even the device that cuts the wine bottle label off to reveal the cork doesn't work that well. Honestly look to another product for this type of device. This is not a good one.

Rabbit, Rabbit
Nice addition to the kitchen/bar for opening those nice bottles of wine that still have corks rather than screwtops. Very efficient, substantial corkscrew.
