Cat friendly

Just ordered on Friday 5/12/23, received product on Saturday 5/13/23. Ordered the product recommended by my friend who helped me to clip my cats claws...a much needed thing to do.

Where have you been all my life?!?

I always hated using the regular guillotine-style clippers on my cats, if they pulled away at the wrong time the captured claw would be painfully yanked. It was also fussy trying to slot a nail into the small hole if the cat struggled. These scissor-style clippers are effortless to use, make trimming even the most ornery cat's claws a breeze, and take me less than half the time it used to with my old trimmers. A big thumbs-up from me and my polydactyl kitty!

Cuts clean and quickly

We have a cat that will NOT put up with the wait time for a batter operated grinder. This gets the job done quick for impatient cats. We can even do her claws while she is relaxed, unrestrained, and nearly unware we are doing it. Nice and sharp so far, but likely not for people with very large finger/thumbs.

Cleanest cut of 5 brands tried

These clippers are create the cleanest cut of any brand we've tried. When cutting your's cats nails with other brands, the nail will split a bit more than the clean cut of this one. With other brands, it does seem to impact our cat's experience... she gets agitated and starts hissing a bit more with those shears. JW Pet seems to provide the best experience to date.

Great simple clippers

I panic-bought these after trying to use guillotine-style clippers from a pet store that damaged my cat's nails from dullness. I've only used them on him once, but they seem to work great. They trim his nails without causing any splintering, so they're definitely sharp enough, and they're much easier to maneuver too.

Best for tiny dogs!

I had the JW clippers for small dogs/cats/birds but they were still too large for my very tiny Chihuahua. My dog's nails curl when they grow, so they can be hard to trim. I really like that these are not only smaller but also slightly curved which makes nail trimming so much easier.

Quiet and does a fantastic job!

Used this on a 9-week rescue kitten - worked a treat from day one!! I was a first-time cat nail trimmer and was a little nervous about the process (I've had dogs before and they HATED it). My hot tip - if you have the patience, go down the patient, gentle, stress-free and loving route. In the week leading up to the grooming, I had bonding sessions with her, gently coaxing out her paws and practising pinching her toes while she was drowsy or grooming, so that we would both get used to it. If she yanked away, I followed or let go. After the clippers arrived, I had her in my lap and used them on a stick of dried spaghetti, again so that she would get used to the look and sound of the clippers. I waited until she was falling asleep, just waking up, or busy grooming after meals, and seized these moments to get in there and get the job done. The snippers worked so well that she didn't feel it or even care most of the time. (As it turned out, snipping spaghetti was actually harder and louder than snipping her actual nails.) Having me hold her paw in place when needed was what bothered her more, but the snip itself didn't faze her one bit. There was hardly any sound.) In the end, she gave up and fell asleep halfway through. Once she passed out, I went to town and finished off all her nails in one go. AMAZING. My advice is to make the cut quickly if you can, rather than cutting down on it slowly, to avoid an unclean cut (I was too slow on one nail, which ended up with a brittle cut). And also give lots and lots of verbal positive reinforcement (or treats if needed)! My arms and legs are no longer being torn to shreds, our sofa is saved, and kitty still loves me. 5 stars all the way.

Not great

These arent the greatest for cutting cat nails. I wouldnt recommend them. I find them to be very small and hard to get a good grip ,and this is from someone who has smaller hands. I also found that they werent very sharp and made it diffixult to get a clean cut. I stopped using them because i noticed that it was making one of my cats nails split. Mind you that cat is prone to splitting nails, but they never split with my higher quality professional level clippers. Please drop some extra cash to get some higher end ones for your kitties they will love you for it.

Lo compre para cortarle las uñitas a mi conejito, y tenia un poco de miedo por ser la primera ves que le cortaba las uñas, super faciles de usar, pequeñas y manejables, buen filo, mi mascota ni cuenta se dio que le hice su corte, el paquete llego bien empacado y en tiempo y forma

Yea, no...

It's bad enough that I have to not only hold the cat, but clip his claws too. I bought these to make it easier & cheaper than taking him to the vet, but the scissors are a bit hard to hold & they don't trim well as they don't cut a clean line & they leave some snags.

Simple, straightforward, and gets the job done

I got these as my vet recommended just getting some smaller clippers rather than coming in for a checkup. They work well, and I haven't had any splitting like others have. My only wish is that they didn't require as much force for some nails, as my wriggle worm of a cat doesn't give me much time to get them all done, but it's at least totally pain free. They're an absolute must have for indoor cats like mine, as without them she gets her claws stuck in everything, and she loves immediately scratching to sharpen them when I'm done. They're straightforward to use, and it's easy to get the right length (when my cat stays still long enough!)
