Improved Model and Larger 12 Cups
This replaced a Zero Water pour pitcher that was 10 cups and blue in color. This larger capacity of 12 cups and clear is improved. The counter space it takes is almost identical and the larger fill reservoir and tank make a real difference in the available water. Yes it naturally takes longer to filter the 12 cups. The parts fit better than the old one which we managed to put a small crack in. We appreciate the improvements and the clear container actually looks better sitting on the counter than the blue one. We looked at the even larger models but the reviews on the spigot problems and thinking about how slow the water comes out was a deal killer. We have a large glass electric high capacity hot water container we use to make hot water for tea. This new Zero Water 12 cup pour pitcher fills it in one shot and fast. Since we do not use the spigot on the handle we wish this pour pitcher could be purchased without it. Our old 10 cup pitcher never had a failure of the spigot that we never used. Hopefully that will be the case here also. The spigot on the handle would seem to be the obvious choice for failure. I have read but not tried where you use a Zero Water filter that has reached the .006 life in a different pitcher and then pour that water into the reservoir of the newer pitcher. The goal would be that the newer filter would have a longer lifespan since it is being fed cleaner water. It would be a bit more time consuming but perhaps save money on the purchase of filters. Our tap water is around 100 parts per million so even using the old filter until it would read 30 parts per million would, on the surface, make sense. The human taste buds are quite sensitive and we know when it’s time to test simply by the taste. What we have noticed is that once the filter reaches the 6 parts per million it more quickly reaches higher number. On average we are able to get close to two months on a filter and for a couple that no longer consume any tap water for drinking or cooking that is acceptable.

Effective, but filters don't last
BEFORE water is poured into the ZeroWater unit in our house, it has already been filtered twice - once by an in-line filter installed in the basement that feeds the refrigerator, then by the refrigerator, and measures 141 on the supplied tester. After only 25 days, at approximately 36 cups/day, the first filter went from 0 to over 400 on the tester overnight. Is that right?? A little over 56 gallons per filter? That "seems" a little weak and is the only reason I only gave 4 stars. If that is standard, reply and let me know... or if the replacements do better, I'll change to 5 stars

Powerful but expensive water filter
This is a very powerful water filter. It's so powerful that it even comes with a TDS meter. In my place, the TDS of the tab water is around 120. My Brita water pitcher can reduce it to around 75 with a new filter. The ZeroWater filter can literally reduce it to 0. You can tell by the taste of the filtered water. Unlike tab water, which generally has a "water" taste, the filtered water tasted the same as bottled water. But the benefit comes with a big catch - costs. ZeroWater filters cost more than most other water filters. I used the filter for drinking water only, and each filter only lasted for three and a half weeks before a completely lost its filtering power. That means 14 to 15 filters each year.

Couldn't get the filter to fit
After receiving my new Zero Water pitcher and assembling it, I was really looking forward to getting that "zero" reading on the TDS tester. Our city tap water has quite a bit of particulate matter in it (243 TDS), not to mention chlorine, and I bought the pitcher because I thought it would be cheaper and easier than buying purified water or getting a water distiller. Unfortunately, the filter that came with the pitcher didn't fit properly, leaking unfiltered water into the reservoir along with the water that actually made it through the filter. So the lowest reading I was able to get was about 94. Better than straight out of the tap, but certainly not "zero water." Emailing the company did not even get a response, much less an offer to send me another filter. When the filter began to reach the end of its usefulness (about 6 weeks, filtering one pitcherful per day), I seriously considered buying a different water filtration pitcher. However, I decided instead to try an off-brand replacement filter. I'm happy to say that this fixed my problem -- with a Filter Logic filter, the pitcher works as it was supposed to from the beginning: the filter fits perfectly, and the TDS meter reads 000. No thanks to the Zero Water people, though!

Excellent product
The product is excellent, it’s easy to use and it help us a lot to clean the water to consume, the flavour is different, it’s smooth, I’m very happy with this product.

works well
Very easy to set up and easy to get replacement filters. The water tastes noticeably better than tap and its peace mind to know that this filter (unlike Brita) eliminates lead. Only negative is that the replacement filters are VERY expensive and because I'm in a hard water area, they need to be replaced every couple of months.

On first acquaintance, pretty pleased. With use, some serious reservations.
Supplied by the excellent Techgadget Store via Amazon, this filter, on first use at any rate, appears to do the job. It does in fact reduce impurities in our middling-mucky water down to zero. This compares to a reduction by our Brita of about 43%. The Evian we use (which is both expensive and heavy to lug home) is better than tap by about 26 %, although what is left in that case is arguably a mix of useful minerals. Whether you want zero is a personal choice, but it does taste good – rather like the pure spring water we used to guzzle as kids many moons ago. How long the filters will last, and what the ongoing cost will be, remains to be seen, but the Britas last about a fortnight and are therefore also an expensive proposition. Time and careful records will tell. The jug when full is quite heavy, but it does fit the fridge door well, is easy to pour from and – most importantly – doesn't dribble everywhere after you fill it. Fitting the filter to the jug requires care because it is plastic threaded and quite a hefty twist. Cross threading is therefore an ever-present danger. At this stage, though, pretty pleased. After a few weeks' use, I find we are not so happy. The weight of the jug is a bit of a problem, particularly for less strong wrists, and filling is a bit of a fiddle because you have to remove and park the lid which is then slightly tricky to re-fit whilst holding a completely full and rather heavy jug. Because this model lacks an indicator to tell you when to change the cartridge, you have to keep remembering to test the water with the meter. We found that when it did run out it did so quite suddenly, with the solids count escalating fast and the taste changing rapidly and not pleasantly. In our case, a filter lasted only about three weeks. My feeling is that this is a very good filter designed for larger containers with built-in metering and that they have adapted to squash this big heavy filter into a small fridge door jobbie, which tuns out to be a bit of a compromise. Back to Brita, I think, who have just improved their product.

The filter is missing in the package. Tried to contact seller but no feedback.
Water quality is good. But the filter is not in the package. I had to buy additionally. View from Amazon page, this price includes a filter. Please send me the missing filter.

Really worth it.
I live in apartments so the water highly chlorinated and is not very nice at all but this jug really does make it taste great. Highly recommend.
