Only works in combination with a Plunger (read the directions--important)

I read through some of the negative reviews and they all are overlooking one thing. The directions. Which specifically state that you must use a plunger after the first treatment to break the clog loose and that it also doesn't work if the drain is completely clogged. You must get the drain to at least slowly drain. This is not an acid-like product that eats a drain clog or hair clog quickly and clears the pipe, but that's also why this is cheaper. I too was expecting a "drano" like reaction. Instead, you treat the slow drain with a small amount of this liquid, then wait at least 4 hours without using the drain, then use a plunger to bust the clog completely loose. After that, you continue to treat regularly with a couple tablespoons each time for prevention. It works as long as you can wait about 10 hours or so and use a plunger on the drain. It loosens and eats away at the clog enough to allow a plunger to clear it. That's how it is intended to work, and is not as immediate nor as caustic as drano.

The only thing that worked for my slow shower drain

I have a 3rd floor walk in shower that has a long lateral drain line to a vertical then another super long lateral to reach a shirt vertical to the main line drain. I had a slow shower drain and would use foaming pipe cleaner which cleared the pipe near the shower drain but did nothing to help the other long runs of drain pipe. Into my 3rd year in this 100 year old rowhouse and the drain basically slowed to the point the shower basin would fill up and take 30 minutes or more to drain. Tried Drano, Green Gobbler, and a similar enzymatic product from Roto Rooter that costs significantly more than this. None remotely helped the issue. I used a large portion of bottle and then let it sit for a few days. Followed suggestions of other reviews and poured boiling water down followed by another application. It took 3 uses like this and finally the drain cleared. My shower basin does not collect any water at all now. This is an inexpensive product to use to clear and then maintain slow drains. It is not a clog buster so match the product to your need. I'm relieved to have found a product that worked, albeit with me running hot water up several flights of stairs a few times.

Great Value for Light to Medium Clogs

This was a decent size container for the price so I decided to give it a go...HOWEVER, I had 4 drains( 2 sinks, 2 tub/shower drains ) that I wanted to try it on...but after using it on the first one( and yes I followed ALL the directions ), I soon realized that it would take the ENTIRE bottle just to halfway clear that ONE drain(bathroom sink). So would I purchase again? Yes, for MINOR weekly drain maintenance...it's GREAT for that. NO, for the major( slow draining ) bathroom sink clog I wanted it to clear.

Does not work

I bought this item 2 of them, they offered next day shipping. The instructions say to use just a little bit but I did that and my drain in my bathroom still clogged. I tried pouring almost half the bottle nothing changed. This product does not work at all. Stick to what you know. And just to be clear my drain isn’t backed up im very conscience of what I let go down my shower drain I just have an old house and I’m in the basement for the flow isn’t always that great and Drano usually helps but this product does not

Not for hair clogs.

Seems to be working well on the kitchen pipe, but the bathroom pipe showed no noticable flow improvement after explicitly following the directions for three days. After taking the drain plug out the hair did seem to be breaking down into a nasty black sludge which I was easily able to rinse down the drain with hot water. It flows like a charm now, but it did require physical removal of the material. So if you have a kitchen sink that some genius keeps putting grease down this should work great. If said genius has hair clogging the sink in the bathroom it won't fix that.

Work’s Amazing

I have an old farm house and the kitchen sink has a drain that will get slow from time to time, I use half a bottle to and let it set over night or longer and that usually speeds up the drain. Then I periodically add maybe half a cup from time to time. It works every time, just have patience and let it do the work.

It doesn't work

Save your money. I wanted to be more environmentally friendly but this product simply does not work. I followed instructions. Still slow-running drain. Disappointing.

Does not work, please dont waste your money

I used it as instructed, no change to slow drain situation. Instead, the water backed up more in kitchen sink. What a wastage of time and money.

Disappointed and definitely not working

I have been using this as per the instructions. It has not cleared the issue. I have already used it over and over and over and still no significant change. Very disappointed.

Not for impatient people.

It took a few weeks, but, by following the directions, we now how free flowing drains throughout our 160 year old farmhouse. To even imagine the GUNK that coated those ancient drainpipes gives me the creeps. Using a flashlight, I could see it coating sink drains. This stuff WORKS and works well... if you give it a chance. If you want an instant drain opener this won't do it.
