Silent, easy to install and built for the outdoors

Very happy with every aspect of this fan except for the output. If you’re looking for silent then this is the fan for you. If you’re looking for a fan that will cool you on the deck/porch/patio on a 90°F day then this is probably NOT the fan for you. I think it will be an overall great fan but I had a fan no longer made by Hampton Bay that would cool 20 people on a hot screened in porch and this fan ain’t it. Otherwise great!

Weak Fan Blade Arms

The fan has been installed outside for about 4 months and twice the blade arms have snapped. First time was during a tropical storm when just one arm snapped. Hunter argued this was an act of God, so there was no compensation. I paid $30 +$10 shipping for new arms. All five had to be replaced because the arms that didn't snap were bent and this caused the fan to wobble. Second time, two blades arms snapped during a late afternoon thunder shower, typical during the summer in Florida. I like the fan's looks, and it was easy to install a remote. It is probably fine for indoor use, but in my experience, the blade arms just aren't designed for outdoor situations where there is a chance of high winds.

Great fan! Too long to install.

We bought two fans to use outdoors over our table. We run them from morning till after dinner. They work very well to keep the air circulating. However, they took much longer to install than we expected. Each one took about two and a half hours each.

Good fan

Wobbled a bit more than other fans I've installed, but that might be my fault? Its an understated fan which I like and you can tell they really thought about how to make it really resistant to the weather. If I was doing it all over again I might buy a bigger fan though. We put ours up in our covered pavilion and the air flow dissipates quickly as you move out from under the fan.

Quality and silence.

Such a high quality fan, absolutely silent operation, looks great. Installed this is a covered patio since it's rated for wet locations (as opposed to the lesser "damp" rating, or indoor rated). I'm using a 36" downrod and there is a small amount of visible movement. Very bare bones - no remote and no ability to add one - but it's a great value.

Looks great, runs quietly

This was very easy to install....instructions were clear. The fan is literally whisper quiet and seems to move enough air to service our 20x12 veranda. Still early in the season so time will tell, I suppose.

Quality

This fan is by far very high quality. The nice thing about the fan is that it has a wood grain on one side, and is plain on the other, so you can choose between the two styles. This fan is worth the money.
