Greatly improves air quality

Honeywell makes great HEPA filters. I have the HPA-050 short black air purifier in my bedroom and I keep it running at all times. I have year-round allergies and I honestly have no idea how I went so long without having an air purifier next to the bed. I have no doubt that this filter actually does its job. If I ever happen to turn the purifier off, the bedroom ends up smelling quite stale and I will wake up with a stuffy nose the next day. The price for this filter is very reasonable and it lasts quite a long time. If you want to make it last even longer, I strongly suggest using a carbon pre-filter with it. Don't skip that part. There was one time I did not put in a carbon pre-filter when I changed out the HEPA filter (I thought I had a spare at home, turns out I did not) and the HEPA wore out significantly faster. Honeywell sells carbon pre-filters, but I think they are overpriced, so I suggest looking on Amazon for a large carbon filter sheet and just cutting it to size to fit in your purifier. You get so much more for the money that way, and it will extend the life of the HEPA filter and also block out additional odors and whatnot.

Good for allergies and cigarette smell. Yes, I know we should quit!

We are smokers. Yep, know it's a bad habit, but it's one of the vices (besides coffee) that we have clung to in middle age. Bought a series of air purifiers, Honeywell is a Minnesota company and we are loyal Minnesotans --- and you just can not depend on hardware stores, Menards or the like to have every filter you need, but you can depend on Amazon to have them, always. People always ask us if we still smoke, because they can not smell stale cigarette smoke in our condo. That's a great endorsement. Also keeps our allergies at bay until we step outside. Cuts down on OTC allergy remedies, which are quite spendy.

Also Fits the HPA061-TGT Model

The box did not have my model listed but it definitely fits the HPA061-TGT model as well. I did not realize how dirty mine was until I compared it to this new one. This price was cheaper than the one at Target. Will purchase again when needed.
