Nice size salt lamp

Nice size salt lamp, not too big and the bamboo has a natural feeling of warmth rather than the wire basket type also available. Gives a soft amber glow and doubles as a night light. Had a wire basket salt lamp from the same manufacture but the inline dimmer failed, this unit has the same inline dimmer so I'm holding out much hope that it will last any longer than the last unit. I removed the bad dimmer on the old lamp and put in a roll switch to turn it on and off. Really didn't need the dimmer we always had it set to the brightest setting anyway. Highly suggest that the lamp be placed on a tray to protect your furniture. Salt is hygroscopic and sweats it will make a crusty salt flow onto what ever the lamp or salt is sitting on.

Nice salt lamp

The lamp arrived quickly and in excellent condition. It had a few more salt pieces than what was needed to fill it up, so I am very happy about that. It has been on all day and emits a soft glow. It has no signs of overheating or having any problems. After 12 hours, the salt rocks are slightly warm, and the dimmer switch is still cold to the touch. I should also add that I keep it next to my computer. Usually, my ears ring any time I am in the same room with my computer, but I am only hearing a pleasant silence today!

Beautiful lamp, tricky assembly

I use this as a night light, and it would be large for that purpose but the dimmer switch makes it ideal. Lovely orange light, good quality base. Assembly is a bit tricky, as you have to be careful not to break the lightbulb. Also, many of the salt chunks are too small and fall through the openings in the base. Once you've assembled it and placed it somewhere, you won't want to move it often as some of the salt chunks may fall out. But once it's set up, wow. It's worth it.

Important information NOT included in online description

I received this lamp today and was initially very happy. I love the Asian-style look. It is also a perfect size for any room. It came with a large quantity of salt rocks - large, medium and small. Reasons for my 1 star rating: -You have to fill the basket with the rocks, which is easy...iF you have small hands. Anyone with large hands will find it difficult, or impossible. My hands are medium-small and slender and they almost didn't fit into the hole at the top and also got a bit scraped. -I made the mistake of reading the enclosed pamphlets, after I had put the salt in the lamp. One mentioned that I should take off the bulb cover, before filling the lamp with stones and plugging in. Oops. So I emptied out the lamp, but there was no bulb cover. My fault for not reading instructions and warnings first. But it was the manufacturer's carelessness for omitting a bulb protector. It was fortunate that the bulb did not shatter in transit. -The following warning was on the same pamphlet.; 'Do not leave LAMP CORD on or near carpet, paper, fabric, or anything flammable'. I double checked the product description on Amazon. Nothing at all mentioned about this particular hazard. Quite a deceptive omission. Had I seen this warning on Amazon, I definitely would not have purchased this item. I have wall to wall carpets in my house. Based on my choice of location for the lamp, the cord will be touching the carpets. I really don't have any other viable options to plug in the lamp, without it coming in contact with one of the restricted fabrics. -Something else not mentioned on Amazon, which may be a factor for some people. This item is made in Pakistan. Had I known that prior to ordering, I would have selected another lamp. My preference was one that was made in the Himalayas or Japan. As much as I love the overall presentation of this lamp, I do not want to risk the cord melting or catching fire. I am unfortunately going to have to go thru the hassle of returning it. I would absolutely not recommend it and would not trust it near a wood or ceramic floor either.

Love this lamp

I bought this lamp for my office. I wanted to add something that was pretty to look at. I don't really need it for the light, but I do love that you can dim it. The wood is sturdy and not cheap looking. I also love that I could place the salt where I wanted so I could completely cover the light. I have received many compliments on this. The plug is also long enough to be able to plug it in under my desk.

Would 100% buy again as gift

Beautiful, solid, love that the light intensity can be adjusted. I read complaints about pieces of salt being too small and just falling out. Yes the salt breaks as it travels. But you also can’t just dump the salt in from the bag. You have to build around the outside with the larger pieces and places the smaller pieces in the inner column.
