My Tall Brothers Get On These

Ok, this review is going to make no sense to most averaged sized people but I’m not writing it for you so sit down with the other children and let the chaperones of this field trip talk for a minute. I love these waders. I hate these waders. I’m 6’6 250lbs kinda wide at the shoulder and narrow at the hip and I wear a 14 EEE on the rare occasions that size is actually in stock anywhere. I got whatever the biggest size is and the boots are a smidgeon too snug but OH MY GOD for the first time in my life I have waders that fit me properly. If you’re 6’3” or taller and not fat and like me you never knew that the term “chest waders” actually meant waders that sit above your nipples without compromising your future fertility then just buy these and deal with the rest of the crap like I have. I’ve already paved the road of misfortune ahead of you so you needn’t suffer the same. Anybody not in the tallest 5% do yourself a favor and buy any other waders because these are terrible. Back to speaking to adults only… I don’t believe these waders were ever really meant to be. I always considered frog toggs to be a reputable brand so I think what happened here is the owners son was fresh out of rebab for the 11th time and designed these waders and since this was the first time he’d shown any initiative that didn’t involve family heirlooms winding up at the pawn shop nobody else at the company was allowed any input that didn’t fall under the category of enthusiastic encouragement. They are that bad. As soon as you order these…and assuming you are not purchasing these as theme attire for your job as a male exotic dancer… you need to make your next search for a set of plastic snap buckles for 3.5” strap. Why? Well let me tell you… because for some insane reason Velcro is what they went with on these as the sole means of securing the shoulder straps. Yeah, Velcro… you know that crap that works sometimes when it’s dry and never at all when it’s wet? That’s what holds these waders up… or doesn’t hold them up. Since I’m no longer a stripper I like to be able to raise my elbows above shoulder level without hearing what sounds like an NBA player coming in off the bench followed by having to fish my shoulder straps out of ice cold water and drape them back over me… only to have to repeat this whole scenario 2 minutes later. So get you some buckles. I recently purchased an $18 life vest for my lab and it came with 3 buckles so I know they aren’t an unreasonable thing to expect in this price range but since Toggs JR. was one chuckle away from another bender you’ll need to purchase these separately. What else is terrible about these?… Oh yeah, you’re going to fall down if you even make eye contact with anything slippery. My fishing buddies were really disappointed when I ran a dozen screws into the bottom of each boot because of how much enjoyment they had been getting watching me bust my butt in places that had been no problem at all until I put these on. I even had resigned myself to crawling on my hands and knees up one algae covered incline and my buddies would run to the top so they could say “here boy!” And hold at arms length whatever snacks they had on hand as encouragement (jokes on them, I ate all the snacks… no backsies when the giant is back on his feet) Point is the boots suck. And bow with my screw head cleats I’ve also been banned from wearing these into my regular corner store due to some sort of floor gouging they blame on me which I deny but either way… now I have to remember not to put my waders on until after I stop at the store and even in flip flops I still get asked as I step in if I’m wearing “those things today”. Did I mention they fit really well though? Other poor features include a lack of belt loops of any kind… I guess they don’t care if you drown wearing these… they have a hand warmer slot but don’t confuse it with a pocket because it has a drain hole in the bottom about the same size as your car key… they come with some sort of clear zipper pocket I assume was recycled from some old kindergartners school supplies that hangs inside with the opening pointed down but none of that really matters because the entire thing will rip off the waders by the 4th time you wear them so just pretend it doesn’t exist until it doesn’t anymore. Even if it doesn’t tear off like mine did anything you put in there flips in and out of the waders as you pull t he n up or fold them down and smacks you square in chin or stomach respectively. Stomach isn’t bad but having an iPhone hit you in the bottom lip every you finish urinating is only funny for everyone else present so just cut that thing off and put it back to work as a child’s pencil pouch like it was intended to do. So there you have it. If you don’t understand how I can say so many terrible things about these waders and still be glad I bought them it’s because you’re short. Not surprising that all of this went right over your head but it was never meant for you to grasp anyway… that’s why I put it on the top shelf. To be clear I’m not looking down on you guys I’m just looking down so I can see you… take care ;)

Fit my 6"3" husband and brother.

I wanted to buy my husband a set of waders for clamming in the cold water. My brother who uses these while pulling his lobster traps, highly recommended the Frogg Toggs brand. They both are 6"3" and tell me they like the fit.

Long inseam

These are my first pair of waders. I tried to buy a pair at bass pro shop, however they only had a few styles and sizes available. These Frogg Toggs seemed like a good option after I read reviews of other brands and wanted to spend about 100 bux. I'm 6' 1" and weigh 225lbs and wear a size 13. My inseam is 32. The boot fit is good. They have a little Xtra room if you want to wear thicker socks. They come with a long inseam which is over 36 inches. Consequently they are very baggy for me. The upper body fits well. Enough room to move around. They seem well made.

Keeps me Dry!!

Good for the money

Keeps me dry and warm. Only slight issue is the Velcro which wore off but still sticks. But other than that four stars.

built for someone with a longer inseam for sure

I read the reviews for this item and noticed that there was some concern for having a longer inseam. I wear a size 11.5 in running shoes and have a more narrow foot so my standard shoe size is an 11.5M. All the waders I have bought before have a size 10 boot and they have fit perfectly even with a thicker pair of socks. So I ordered the size 10 waders. The boot is a little more snug than the other size 10s I have owned before (Cabela's, Hodgmans) and the inseam is definitely long, but they provide pretty good coverage for deep water. You'll have to have your chin in the water to get water over the top of these. I'll be testing them for durability soon, but over all the seem rather comfortable especially for the price. (Got them on sale for $45) For reference purposes I am 6' 0" and weigh about 200 lbs.

Leaked at seams after a year

Seemed great to start out, at about 14 months they started leaking in the seams at the crotch and the left knee pad. Not impressed with their durability at all.

good quality but LACK OF SIZING makes them a bad choice for some. the wader is built to the size of the boot and not the person. Im 6' wear 14 or 15 shoe but was swallowed up in the waders, as if was 6'9" 280lbs had to return the search is still on
