Scotch Heavy Duty Tape.

Good product, only brand I'll get & I use it on odds/ends & to close my kitty kid's litter bags so it doesn't open. It works well. I also got this when I moved here a few years ago as well.

Heavy duty only when heavy duty pressure is applied

Ironically, it's not ideal for use on cardboard boxes. I use it to make cardboard house structures for my cats (which I modify almost every other week). I need the tape to stick, otherwise the houses fall apart quickly when they play in it. To get the tape to stick to cardboard boxes, you need to really rub the tape into the cardboard using something hard, I use the back of my metal box cutter. This can get rather exhausting if you are doing a lot of taping. I don't have this issue on plastic or regular paper. Given that this tape is considered heavy duty, its adhesion strength should not be dependent on the user's arm strength.

I always keep packaging tape on hand as it works so much better than other tapes. Really strong and the adhesive holds.
