Great pan and exceptional customer service!

I've updated my review to 5 star from my previous 2 due to the exceptional customer service I received. I submitted a claim through Farberware's online RMA portal (easily the the best RMA experience I've ever had) by uploading pictures of the damage and proof of purchase. Less than 2 weeks later I received my replacement pan! That is top notch customer service which I really appreciate these days. I can't think of another company I've purchased from that has made filing a RMA claim this easy and hassle free. As I stated in my original review I liked the pan with the exception of the issue I had with the non-stick surface. I hope this one performs better and will post back after cooking with it for a while. After this experience I will definitely be purchasing from this manufacturer in the future! Original Review: The durability on this skillet has proven to not be great. I purchased this at the beginning of April 2017 and the "non-stick" coating is showing signs of wear. The skillet has only been hand washed, never with an abrasive sponge, and has never been used with cooking spray (only vegetable oil & butter). To have gotten 7 months of use out of a skillet with a "lifetime warranty" is pretty disappointing. In the beginning it worked flawlessly and cooking proteins such as chicken or steak was no problem. It has now gotten to the point where cooking any type of animal protein causes the fond to "bond" to the surface of the skillet making clean up an affair involving soaking the skillet for a few hours. Overall initially I was happy and impressed with the build quality. The skillet has a nice weight to it and although the handle is screwed into the riveted mount there is still no play or rattle. The lid is also very nice and fits well creating a fairly tight seal. I like a skillet with higher sides so this one really fit the bill. If not for the poor longevity issues I likely would have given this a 5 star. I'm going to try to get it replaced under warranty (there is no way to "fix" the non stick coating on these pans which is sprayed onto a primer and then baked during the manufacturing process). We'll see if they actually stand by their product.

After one year of light use (I only cook about twice a week), the base of the pan is completely bent and cannot be used =========================== Update: They did send me a replacement afterwards. I couldn't say the quality of the product is great, but the customer service good and honest.

Outstanding quality frying pan

This frying pan is fine. The only complaint my husband has is that he wishes the sides were higher.

Very even heating and easy to clean. I know it says that it's dishwasher safe but I'm of the opinion that you never put Teflon in the dishwasher or use for high heat (like stir fry). Teflon is convenient but the nature of the material degrades under high heat and/or harsh chemical s. Also, a word of advice for ANY of your pans... don't EVER put cold water into your hot pan..as in to soak for cleaning. You will warp it!! This pan is great for eggs, hash browns, schnitzel, grilled cheese..but don't use it to deep fry or sear a roast because the life of your pan will be shortened.

Nearly perfect

I wanted to give this pan 5-stars because I think it is nearly perfect. The weight of it is just right for me - heavy enough not to warp yet light enough for me to lift with one hand. It's easy to clean and I find my food cooks evenly. The lid fits perfectly and keeps splatter and steam in. The handle stays cool to the touch. The only negative for me is a frustrating feature - the rounded sides. I find when I try to scoop contents out of the pan, rather than having a 'corner' with a straight side I can use as a stop to flip food onto the serving spoon, the food slides up the rounded side and flops out of the pan. Would I buy another? Probably - but only if I couldn't find one from Farberware with straight sides instead.

Great pan cooks up my ground hamburger a lot quicker than my regular pans.. Love that it has a glass lid.. I have washed this in the dishwasher a few times with no problems.. Great price and great product very happy I purchased it.

It is fantastic.

So far three months has gone by using this pan almost exclusively to cook my large dinners; not a scratch has appeared on the pan and the non-stick coating is still pristine. It is fantastic.
