Expansion pack- Great game

This is a challenging game to figure out but once you do it’s really fun. That’s why we bought this expansion pack.

This game literally has been about the only thing that brings my adult sons into the room with us, and it's just amazing! They have their own interests now, but they LOVE this game! It's so nice to be all together again for more than 5 minutes. Highly recommend!

I misread the description, but still like it!

I have to admit, that I didn't read carefully, and I thought it was a cheaper version of the game. But, I was very pleased with the plastic card covers and the new cards! The plastic covers aren't perfect, but when playing with my children, the covers keep the tiles from flying across the table. And we like the challenge of the new cards. If you like Azul, you'll like this.

Almost perfect

The extra boards are great and extra “puzzly” if that is what you are aiming to get. They definitely give Azul more playability and add an extra layer of challenge. The template for the game pieces is a little finicky. It’s better than nothing, but the cheap material and odd design choice could be improved. All this said, this was still a good purchase and I’m glad I bought it.

Literally just a plastic overlay and some different ways to score

I was a bit disappointed in what you get in this "expansion". We love the Azul base game and play it a lot here and were excited to mix things up and play in a new challenging way. We didn't get that with the Crystal Mosaic expansion. We're also unsure where the name Crystal Mosaic comes from since all you get is a clear plastic overlay that keeps your tiles in place when you put them on the player boards. Also included are four new player boards which differ from the base game boards only in that they have different floor line scoring and basically just the gray side of the base player board with some of the tiles restricted to only certain tile colors. Had I known what I now know about this expansion, I would not have purchased it. The plastic overlay is of limited usefulness, in fact, it seems to make easily removing the tiles from your board as you score at the end of the round. The edits to the game board and floor line scoring are not sufficient enough to really make the game any more challenging. The gray side of the base game board is more challenging than either side of this expansion's boards.

Extra play boards

Got it as a gift they were happy with it. But for the price I'm disappointed for 4 boards and some plastic covers. Didn't have problem.with the coveres they worked well enough as seen in other reviews

Not quite what I expected

I could not figure out from the description exactly what this expansion included, but because we like the original game so much I bought it. It's actually 4 new double-sided boards with slightly different scoring, and 5 plastic overlays that fit the game boards in both this and the original set. The overlays are the reason I bought this, and I expected them to be thicker. They're quite flimsy - they do the job, but I don't know how long they'll last. Is this why there are 5 in the set? Are they expected to break? Overall a good purchase. What I'd love is an expansion that introduces a couple of new tile designs to replace the plain red and blue in the original game.

Not essential

I really liked the Azul base game and decided to give a chance to this mini extention. I really like the plastic tray that prevent the tiles from moving on the board (it should have been in the base game), but the new boards do not bring much. I found this extension does not bring much and is overall, too pricey. It is worth 10 euros, not 17.

Dejó algo que desear.

Más que expansión... son otros 4 tableros para uso de 8 jugadores del juego base. Me decepcionó un poco. Esperaba más. Por parte del vendedor, fué muy atento y recibí mi producto rápido y en perfecto estado.

Great new game modes - the plastic tile overlays are cheap/flimsy

The 2 new game modes are fantastic and add more playability to Azul, which is already a great game. Only 3/5 as the the 'Crystal overlay' really is thin flimsy plastic. If it was a bit thicker it would be 5/5 easily. A Bit of a missed opportunity!
