Super high flight
Made some of these with my 9 yr old son for a science fair project. Launched 2 of them in a park for his study on the effects of drag. Launched in Texas. I believe they landed in Louisiana somewhere. Even when the parachute was cut away on the second one. You will need absolutely no wind or a lot of empty field to retrieve these. Fun as heck tho.

Great Set!
To get yourself up and running with a great beginner rocket set, you'll want to get this set along with the Estes 1427 Alpha III Flying Model Launch Set and at least one engine bulk pack, such as the B6-4 and/or the C6-5. I just bought this 12-pack of Estes rockets along with the launch set, a B6-4 bulk pack, and a C6-5 bulk pack. If you don't have a large park to launch these things, you might pass on the C6-5 bulk pack and opt instead for one of the A series bulk packs. The sets each include a set of stickers with USA markings and numbers. The numbers are great, as that allows you to provide a unique set of numbers on each to indicate ownership. My oldest son was born on the 8th of the month, so I put an 08 on his, and my youngest son was born on the 26th of the month, so I put a 26 on his. I thought the park from which I was launching the rockets was sufficiently large, but I was wrong about that. One rocket launched with a C6-5 engine floated at least 400 yards into some residential neighborhood. I was unable to find that one. You'll want to launch where there are not too many trees. I lost two of them to the trees, as they floated down and their parachutes got stuck high up in the branches. In all, I built four for my outing, and lost three fairly quickly, so this set is a must if you're a beginner and you're not absolutely sure whether you're launching in the best place. So, you'll definitely want to build a set of them -- if you go out with just one, you're outing might be short.

Great Value. Big Fun.
I'm a Cub Scout leader, and we had about 35 firees. Kindergartners were too young, even with maximal parental involvement. First and second graders could do it with lots of help. Third through fifth graders could do most or all of it based on whether they had done 2 or 3 rockets in previous years. Also, buy the portable launch kit which works well enough for home use. Don't forget the insulation which is sold separately.

Great value for the money and great for a wide range of ages.
Great value for the money. I bought the 12 pack and handed them out to friends and relatives kids to build and bring back for a flight competition. The only thing that initially disappointed me was the one-piece plastic fin. Originally I wanted the kids to have to 'work' at building their rocket and aligning the glue on balsa fins are probably the more difficult part of rocket building. But the one-piece plastic fin opened the age range for the kids that can successfully build and fly a rocket. And after all, the real goal is to get more kids involved so this ended up working well. A basic build of this rocket can be done in about 45 minutes excluding glue time; longer if decorating the rocket is planned.

Not bad!
Bought two boxes and each box was short a couple pieces so I had to mix a rocket from each box for the final rocket. 47out of 48 isn’t bad. Other than that the kids loved shooting them off!

Easy to assemble and fun to launch!
These rockets are great! They were built and launched by our second and third grade science club. The construction took about 60 minutes (broken down into 2 separate meetings) going step by step with just two teachers helping our 20 young scientists. They loved building them and launching them with 2 launch pads. We did have some parachutes that failed to come out properly, but decided as a group that they may have been packed too tightly. These were a great buy and we will purchase these again.

This is a great kit
I buy several bulk packs per year for group activities. This kit is my favorite. Goes together well, looks good and flies great. I like that the fins are one piece, which speeds the assembly. Just the right amount of cutting and glue, vs. pre-fabricated parts. I use B64 motors and they are crowd pleasers at launch time. I am very happy with these kits.

Great Scout Project!
This bulk rocket set was just what I needed for my 4th grade Cub Scouts. This particular set is just right for first-time rocket builders, as the pre-formed fin piece helps to ensure a successful first flight. Every one of the rockets that we built had multiple launches, and even though we used them with the least powerful engines, the boys were all super-impressed with the altitudes their rockets achieved. Any higher, and the rockets would have blown out of the schoolyard! Thanks for offering this cost-efficient bulk pack that made it possible for my den to complete this project - it made learning the scientific principles behind the launch a ton of fun!
