Good filters
I definitely wish the pack came with an even amount of strainers(2,4,6,8…) my filter uses 2 cartridges so it would just be easier. The sponge is okay but could be better

Prefilter sponge
I installed it for Aquaclear 70 filter. It fit very snug and it filters debris and it still allow water to flow in.

Perfect for protecting delicate fry & shrimp
I keep a dozen small aquariums that I use to raise fresh water fish, plants and ornamental shrimp. I have 30+ or more various brand hang on the back type filters designed for 10 to 20 gallon aquariums and I have employed these Marina intake sponges on about half of them. I also use the comparable Fluval Edge Pre Filter Sponges. Both sponges fit onto most strainers that I have including Tetra, Aqueon, Fluval, etc. The Marina sponges are about three times as expensive as the Fluval Sponges when purchased on Amazon. Both sponges are similarly sized and effective at keeping stuff out of the intake. Either sponge can be rinsed and reused. One key difference is that the Marina's are open on the bottom where as the Fluvals are closed like a sock. Being closed gives an extra layer of protection for the most delicate and fragile livestock tiny like baby shrimp. But for most other situations though I prefer to use the Marina sponges. The Fluvals are too fine and get clogged with particulate matter very quickly. My goal is to protect fragile and small livestock and prevent them from entering the filter. The finer Fluval sponges basically pre-filter out everything before it has a chance to enter the main filter chamber and the larger mechanical cartridge basically rendering the filter itself useless and eventually stopping the flow completely. The I have never had these Marina sponges clog, making them a much better option for me.

Works Amazing.
Totally worth the money. I used this for a top fin PF-10. Fit perfect. This pre-filter is course. So it was perfect in keeping my nano fish safe while not stressing the filter. Will be purchasing more.

It is a filter - that's about it, & the seller has wrong size info on the product's page
It is just a filter, no more, no less. I am okay with it, but the seller has indicated wrong measurements. The actual product is only about 2" x 2". The product's description page say: "Measures 1-1/3-inch length by 3-2/7-inch width by 6-inch-height". IT IS NOT! Also, this was under the description: "Canned grasshoppers foods are a convenient way to feed insects". HUH? This is an aquarium filter, so what the hell is this about?

Okay
Got it for the "Tetra Whisper IQ 20". Wasn't sure if it would fit to begin with, posting this for anyone else with the same filter. Either get 2 of these if you want to cover the whole thing or find a different one. This fits extremely snug on this filter, I personally like that as I know it isn't going anywhere.

Just barely works for Aqueon QuietFlow 10 Filter
The sponge filter is slightly bigger than the pipe but when the filter pipe is sucking up water, the sponge filter doesn't move. It does act as a good pre-filter sponge, it did stop the floating java moss and food from piling up inside the filter. Its cheap and effective, I recommend you get this since its a low risk and beneficial investment for your tanks.

Good to have on hand
I’ve collected several of the short version of this filter from all the smaller aquariums that I’ve bought over the years. It nice to have the longer sleeve coverage with this one for some applications. I’ll definitely be getting a few more just to have on hand. Good for protecting smaller fish/frogs/shrimp from getting sucked up the filter, while restricting water flow as little as possible.

Too big for my mini HOB filter, but made it work.
I have the Penn-Plax Cascade 20 power filter, it’s a mini HOB so this pre-filter was way to big to fit on the tube. But I cut off a bit of the length, which I didn’t need, and used it to cap-off the end (which was a exposed and risk sucking up my shrimp) and also helped to tighten the fit. A little DIY and it’s now perfect. Bought this one just to feel it out, but now that I know what I need I’ll probably look for a bigger pack for cheaper instead of wasting money on individuals.
