Good sander wheel.

Wheel is a little stiff when first used so be careful not to gouge out softer woods. Once it's been use, the flapper wheel works nicely.

Right tool for the right job

These flap wheels are costly, but were hard for us to find in the 80 grit. They were well-made and we had no delamination failures of fly apart wheels in the six we bought. All of them were used down to bare nubs. We needed to sand down a bunch of Kee clamp fittings and these things did the job in record time. We had 400 fittings and in retrospect couldn't imagine doing it a different way. Again, not the cheapest, but after the job is done, you won't care. Thank you for your time.

Excellent tool

I never knew these existed, but thankful I found it. Works perfect for removing finish off of odd shaped wood items.

Not durable - waste of money

I used this to sand metal with a die grinder. Terrible. An older Dewalt a size or two larger that I've had for years works great.

and they leave a nice consistent surface

These are perfectly centered with no wobbling, even at high speed, and they leave a nice consistent surface. Unlike some other brands that lose their grit quickly and leave you with what amounts to a paper flap wheel, the DeWalt wheels shed the paper backing at the same rate they shed abrasive media, so you've always got bite with these. Very highly recommended!

I use it for sanding/ cleaning the interior of gourds. It works very well and, undoubtedly, can be used to sand other soft materials. It fits into a Dremel or Wecheer flex tool using a 1/4 collet. I do not know what its effectiveness would be on harder materials.
