Yes it's a bit greasy. No white cast

I really love this sunscreen. It's not truly a water cream, but it does mimic that glowy effect. It moisturizes really well. I just don't love the dispenser. I like the pump, but the size is misleading. From experience, there's less product in the container than you think. It's a bit misleading in the sense that the chamber with the product is much smaller than the pot itself. The smell is fine. I could do without it.

Best daytime moisturizer with SPF that I’ve ever used. Unfortunately much pricier than I would like to spend on a small container, but I will continue trying to catch it on sale.

It pills on your face

I love Coola's sunscreen and love their Refreshing Water Mist Spray for on the go. Since I live in Florida, sunscreen, multiple times per day is in my repertoire. I love the mist so I thought I'd try this as well. Unfortunately, about an hour or so after putting it on my face, it started to pill/rub off in clumps. Really gross and made me question if this was really a moisturizer or physical barrier sunscreen. Given how expensive it is, I'll stick with my Paula's Choice or Peter Thomas Roth moisturizer & sunscreen combo.

The media could not be loaded. If you have dry skin and can tolerate chemical filters, this Refreshing Water Cream Sunscreen from Coola is a must have! It is rich in hydration and feels like a moisturizer. It's not greasy at all. It is lightweight, but very nourishing, and my chronic dry skin loves it! It has a slight coconut scent, which is pleasant. Coola uses only natural plant sources for their fragrant properties, and never any synthetic fragrance, which I appreciate. There isn't any zinc in this product, so there's zero white cast. This sunscreen will work for every skin tone. :) The light blue tint that is present in this cream vanishes immediately upon application. I have very sensitive & product reactive skin, as well as fungal acne, but have not experienced any adverse reactions, breakouts, or sensitivity from continued use of this product. I love the packaging, even though the dispenser on my bottle can be a little finicky. (It sometimes gets air trapped in it and requires a lot of pumping, as seen in the beginning of my video). The best feature of this style bottle is it's not at all messy, unlike traditional tubes. It also never leaks, so it packs well for travel. You get 1.5 fluid ounces (44ml) of product with this purchase. This sunscreen provides SPF 50 from the use of the chemical filters: Avobenzone 3.0%, Homosalate 5.0%, Octisalate 3.0%, and Octocrylene 5.0% It is also fortified with skin loving ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Organic Aloe Flower & Aloe Leaf Juice, Organic Coconut Water, Glycerine, Tumeric Root, Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, and a host of other amazing plant extracts. This sunscreen is super easy to apply too - it spreads effortlessly & absorbs quickly, leaving you with dewy, radiant, glowy skin. Not The Best Packaging, Expensive, Non-Greasy, Nourishing

I'm a natural redhead. What does that entail? Well, in terms of the sun, I might as well be a vampire. Not the glittery kind. More like the ones who burst into flames. I burn. I do not tan and have a higher propensity for things like skin cancer. Sidebar, irrespective of gender, age, skin type, or tone, we're all at risk from the damage UV can ravage and should be using sunscreen daily, rain or shine, year-round. But I digress. I'm over 40 and have tried various makes, brands, and price points for SPF. My standards are not over-the-top. I want something suitably packaged and priced (because a good SPF doesn't have to be expensive). It needs to be broadspectrum, at least a factor of 30 (not relying on the trace amounts in makeup either). And something that doesn't leave an unpleasant white cast, orange cast, persistent greasy shine, stickiness, or smells (or if it does have a scent, nothing perfumy or headache-inducing). Essentially, it needs to melt into the skin and be a pleasure to use. This list is not a tall order. It is what most people expect out of an SPF. Otherwise, if they don't like it, they won't use it. The Coola Organic Refreshing Water Cream has some hits and misses for me: One, the packaging and price point. Mother of G, $46 for 1.5oz (as of this writing). Really? Did they sprinkle flecks of gold in there? No. Ok. Then we're paying more (likely) because of brand recognition and quality. Yes, the general quality of Coola's formulas is popular for a reason. But more on that in a second. The packaging. It is not suitable for this product. They've stowed the SPF inside a bulky blue plastic tub capped with one of those pump discs. Dispenses the water cream from a hole in the center. Nope. It needs to be in a no-frills poly tube, not a jar. If you use this cream the way you are supposed to use SPF on the exposed areas of your face (ears, eyes, lips, neck, etc.), for example, it'll be empty in a week or two. Leaving you with a wasteful hard tub to toss. Two, this is a broadspectrum SPF of 50 - so this is a huge win in my book. *Applauds Coola with a polite golf clap and moves along.* I won't nitpick chemical vs. physical blockers. But for reference, this one is a chemical filter-based SPF. You do you. Suppose you like using it and have found hybrids, chemical, or physical SPFs to be your jam, great. Find one you like and use it. More people need to incorporate sunscreen into their everyday skincare routines for cancer prevention and antiaging, not just in the summer months. Three, the texture, residue, and smell test. This one leans 90/10 in my scorebook. The pale blue water cream has an amazingly lightweight spreadability that leaves no color-cast whatsoever. Melts into skin shortly after application and leaves me with a hydrated, nourished feel and a semi-matte finish. Nothing sticky, tacky, greasy, shiny. Yes, you can touch your skin and tell you applied something. It isn't the cakey white creams of, say, the 80s and 90s. The residue is near-nonexistent. There is a smell. Nothing toxic and beachy, but completely unnecessary. Thankfully, it isn't unpleasant and is reasonably faint. Doesn't linger. I love how they blast the ingredient list with ALL CAPS notations of ORGANIC next to the compounds that fell into their promoted 70% organic promise on the front of the box. Honestly, I don't care. There are all kinds of debates on what is and isn't genuinely organic, and the standards they have to meet fall into a convoluted gray area. I'm simply concerned with the safety and suitability of the product itself. Anyway, overall this is a lovely, light hydro-cream that melts into my skin, leaving me semi-matte, hydrated, without being greasy or heavy. No breakouts, flares, irritation, redness, rashes, or sensitivity. And, it seems to provide the protection I expect. But this is ridiculously overpriced for the amount you are getting a not suitably packaged (again, for the amount you are getting and what it is).
