Really nice but I'm not sure if they're actually cast iron...

When I received these I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the craftsmanship and bright gold color! I just love them. They are so nice! However, they are extremely light weight which suggests that they are not actually cast iron. Maybe that part of the description was a mistake or translation error but I personally believe that they are really great quality aluminum or steel because they are very nice but aren't heavy like many other cast iron items that I own for camping and cooking. I highly recommend these Trivets for stylish kitchens and dining rooms as long as you're aware that they aren't actually made of cast iron. I never want to be over critical. I just try to be fair in my reviews in order to help both the manufacturer and potential buyers. With all of that in mind, I hope that you found my review helpful! :)

Not cast iron! Be aware!

I really love the design however you just can’t fool people on what it’s made of. Iron vs aluminum I don’t have to learn too much chemistry to know the difference. If I knew it’s Casted Aluminum I would definitely not purchase it. It’s not worth the money.

Great quality; Better than expected

We got this product to display on our dining table when entertaining guests. I usually used pot holders to put hot plates on it and it was kind of tacky compared to these leaf trivets that I found. At first impression, these were larger than I actually expected them to be; They were about 10” long roughly. The gold color was nice, not too metallic but almost rustic in appearance. The weight was good because it was not heavy, but not so light that they felt cheap or plastic. There are plastic or rubber-like pegs on the bottom of the trivets to protect your dining table. They have not turned color after multiple uses and the pack came with two. This would be a nice housewarming gift or addition to your home to replace the use of potholders for your dining table.

sturdy and beautiful

They are a bit narrow, but unless you are using them with a Huge pot or pan, it’s not a problem. This works wonderfully for most hot cooking vessels, and it looks lovely, making a statement while protecting surfaces. The bottoms have non-slip stickies, so they won’t slide around, and they are high up enough to even protect against heat radiating from the vessel. Note: they are quite heavy. Very nice.

Very pretty but not what I was expecting

These trivets are pretty, but not as described. They are not cast iron; they are brass plated cast aluminum, with some kind of resin feet that are black. Well, they are *supposed* to be black, but the tissue that wrapped them in the box is stuck all over them! The feet look like molting birds. The tops are super shiny; of course, the edges show that they are cast and not polished like the top has been. Not what I was expecting at all. They will work just fine on the table top, but won't for what I frequently use trivets for- to put on the wood stove when I want a pot to keep warm but not boil. Those resin feet would never hold up to that!

Beautiful & Functional

I just love DII. I have a lot of products from them. These are an inexpensive yet beautiful addition to your table. I am thrilled that these have taller rubber pegs than any trivets I have had before. It is reassuring that I can put really hot dishes on these trivets like my pie straight out of the oven placed over a laminate countertop with no worry of heat damage. Note: these trivets will get warm because o heat transfer. You will be able to use these either together or separately. They are both perfectly level so no worry of tipping over. Please see my photos. Look so much nicer than silicone flats.
