Easy to use
Like everything else, made in china, but a good safety device. I would have liked it better if it was still a USA made item from Delta, which still make one or two things here. Alas, a former flagship brand going east with a loss in quality and respect to go with it.

Had to enlarge holes slightly, and an alignment tip.
Couldn't get it far enough to the right, o I used a round file to add some space to the left sides of the bolt holes. Alignment top (Photo): Rip a piece of wood on both sides (I used a length of scrap 2x4). Leave the fence locked after the last cut. Clamp the wood between the splitter and fence to set the spacing, I added a piece of card stock to make a little room to the right of the splitter. This also ensures it's vertical if the wood is thick enough.

Fits Delta 34-400 series 10" Tilting Arbor saws but DOES NOT retract into saw cabinet.
Fits Delta 34-429 10" Tilting Arbor saw but DOES NOT retract. It's an easy install, but beware that on these saws (the 10" tilting-arbor saws with model numbers 34-400, -402, -426, -429 and 34-430) the splitter will NOT retract down into the saw. It hits the carriage assembly. This does not effect the functionality of the splitter - but does mean you will have to uninstall it for operations where it would be in the way.

High quality product
I bought this splitter thinking I would have to modify it to fit my saw. It is an old Foremost brand contractor saw. I believe it is modeled after the older Jet saws? I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a perfect fit on my saw! I had to file one corner down on the push/pull tab to push it below my table when not in use. I could have also installed a couple small washers between it and the mounting holes to move it closer to the blade instead. This is such an important safety upgrade for older saws that have no riving knife! I’m very happy with this product and highly recommend it!

Needs a simple modification to work on a 1994 Delta Unisaw 36-812
This can be installed on a 1994 Unisaw, Model 36-812, but you will have to modify it. The problem is as follows: there are two threaded holes on the saw, and this splitter installs onto them by means of two bolts. The holes in the splitter are oversized, so that you can move the splitter around a bit when installing. However, they are not large enough to move it to the correct position - it will be out of line with the saw blade. You will need to ovalize the holes a little using a round file, dremel or similar tool. This can be done in 10 minutes and isn't particularly difficult. As far as the splitter goes - I'm not very impressed by it, but it's better than nothing, and the choice for old Unisaws is limited. Its main claim to fame is that you can slide it into the table way without needing any tools, which is convenient if you want to do non-through cuts, dados or if you want to use your table saw as an assembly table. I believe that it is the only available Unisaw splitter that can do that. Other than that it is pretty basic - a thick piece of sheet metal sticking out of your saw in the right place, with some anti-kickback fingers hanging down. The anti-kickback fingers cannot be removed or disabled, which means that you can't slide the work piece backwards when your cut is done. Depending on what you're doing this can be very annoying. As an alternative, there is also the Biesemeyer 78-961 which seems to be better made but is difficult to get. As far as I can tell, instead of "disappearing" it can be snapped in and out by pulling a lever, and the anti-kickback fingers can be removed.

Well Made, Beefy Construction.
I was surprised by the limited number of options available for a splitter/anti-kickback device for the Unisaw. I ending up buying this splitter to fit on my right-tilt Unisaw model 36-816, as it was listed in one of the FAQ questions as a saw that supported the splitter. When I received it I determined I still had some leftover pieces on my Unisaw from the original blade guard assembly that did not come with the saw when I purchased it off CraigsList. The first piece came off easy, but there was a big honkin' nut on the trunion that I wasn't sure I could remove. It looked to be the bolt that attached the blade guard assembly which hung off the back of the saw, but I wasn't sure. I didn't want to remove this nut without knowing what it did. I called Delta customer support (866-999-1499) to ask about it and came to find out they were on an extended holiday for the Christmas/New Years and would not be responding to any inquiries until Jan 5th. So I fired off an email to the Delta customer service team (CustomerCare@dpec-na.com) and waited for a response. I never got a response from my email so I called back on Jan 9th and was told that the nut was indeed holding the blade guard assembly bracket hanging out the back of the saw and I could simply remove it and attach the splitter. Delta customer support contact page is at http://www.deltamachinery.com/contact-us. Attached the splitter with the included cap screws - it was a tight fit getting an allen wrench in there to tighten them. Everything seemed to fit well. The splitter is easy to push up/down. Its design makes you remove the blade insert to push it below the table as the slot in the table insert behind the blade slot is not wide enough for it to push it below the table. No biggie though, as you need to lift the blade insert to be able to lift it up when you need it again. This piece is well made and is 'beefy' - made of solid metal and seems like it will last. When I had it in my hands looking at it and move the fingers around I pulled the anti-kickback fingers back too far and a spring behind the fingers dropped out....lucky I caught it and was able to figure out where the spring went - there's a hole in the assembly behind the fingers which makes sure there is tension on the fingers at all times. I edited this after posting and the pictures seemed to be dropped. I found them under the "customer images" section. Includes some pictures of what the arbor with the nut looked like, and a pic after installation. Enjoy

Safety first.
Bolted in perfectly on my 90s era unisaw. It's a powerful tool and I wanted to take a couple precautions. Saws from back then didn't have splinters or riving knives.

Do the work, need to get use to.
Pour la sécurité ça fait bien son travail mais c'est un peu difficile de travailler avec.
