Good Purchase! (Read for Detailed Review, Add'l Measurements, Experience Notes, & Tips)
I think this is a great deal! I just installed it tonight so I can't speak to its durability but the pieces look nice and feel sturdy. The product shipped quickly and no parts were missing. My storm door handle (11+ yrs old) broke and it was a challenge finding a replacement because I wanted the new set to fit the existing holes. My old hardware didn't have a keyed lock; it was just a lever handle on the outside with a push latch and slide deadbolt inside. My installation had many errors, so it took a while. Some were because I had no experience swapping storm door hardware (though I've changed front and internal door components many times) and some were due to inadequate instructions and diagrams. I did a lot of research so I'll provide details in case it's helpful. It's the info I wanted when I was shopping around and things that probably should be included in the description and instructions. PRODUCT INFO -This latch set has no mortise or tubular locks, so it requires no pockets (bore holes) in the door frame. Both lock and handle hook onto your existing storm door jamb or the provided strike plates. -The lock and handle are separate pieces so you can install one or both; they're not dependent upon each other. -The lock and handle each require two screw holes spaced 1 3/4" apart plus center holes for the spindles. You need at least 5 5/16" between the topmost and bottommost of the four screw holes to fit the lock and handle together. -Unless you have a very wide door (maybe 2"+?) you will need to shorten (CUT) the flat, notched metal spindle (rod) used inside the lock. I did it manually with a hand saw, which required some time and physical force. However, you can skip this step if you don't plan to use the outside keys, and everything else should fit right out of the box. That spindle only matters if you want the keys to lock/unlock the sliding deadbolt from the outside. Don't bother cutting/installing that internal piece if you won't use the keys; the deadbolt will work fine from the inside without it. (The manufacturer provides five differently-sized spindles for the handle, so no cutting is required for that component on standard doors.) PERSONAL EXPERIENCE/NOTES -I cut the deadbolt spindle as directed but it was too long, so maybe err towards a shorter notch. Luckily, there was a plastic deadbolt spacer included (though it was mentioned nowhere in the instructions or diagrams). I installed it on the inside between the door and the turn knob and this allowed me to properly secure the lock. -During installation of the lock and/or handle, don't completely tighten screws until the very end. You'll want to tweak the alignment to the door, and lock and handle to each other, before finishing. -Fit the lock pieces together before installation to confirm alignment and functionality. -If you spin the key outside and nothing happens then that means the spindle isn't properly engaged. Ensure it's properly situated by separating everything, placing key lock in place, inserting spindle from the inside, then reconnecting deadbolt. -The deadbolt should slide easily. Loosen the screws if it's difficult to turn. -I didn't install the included deadbolt strike (bracket) as the bolt hooked just fine behind the lip of my existing storm door jamb. The strike might add a small degree of protection but I don't view this lock as a true security measure, nor should you. It's just a deterrent and I give the manufacturer credit for stipulating that (though they likely did it for legal purposes). -Where instructions reference "machine screws" it means the gold-toned screws that come in multiple lengths with flat tips. Where they reference "tapping screws" it means the silver-tone screws in short length with pointed tips. (Maybe most folks know this but I didn't. A parts list would have helped.) -Sawing the deadbolt spindle was mildly aggravating but the biggest challenge I had was aligning the screws to join the inside and outside pieces. This was no fault with the product itself. I mention it only in case you also have difficulty so you know you're not alone! I give this product four stars right now. It has two notable issues: 1) The requirement to cut the lock spindle, which some buyers can't/won't do, and 2) Terrible directions and diagrams that don't even reference all provided parts. Nonetheless, I was able to install it, and the extremely low price for what appears to be a quality product rebounds this to a four in my book. If the manufacturer provided multiple pre-cut lock spindles (as they did for the handle) and improved the description and accompanying printed materials (to include a parts list, detailed instructions, and diagrams with all parts) they could easily charge double and it would be a five-star product if it proved durable.

Just What I Was Looking For
I have a front door with a storm door. The storm door has a bolt and handle with no key lock. During the summer our front door shifts making it hard to open and close. Always afraid it may not be completely locked so wanted a key lock for the storm door. Went to several hardware stores but none sold anything that worked. Tried searching online and found nothing that would work either. Came upon this and it was exactly what would work for the storm door I had. It comes with many different size screws and handle spindles to use on different door thickness. Only comes with one length of spindle for bolt/key lock. You can cut it down to the right length but I didn’t know how to. Took to a hardware store and they helped find the right thing to cut it. The installation was really easy but I gave 4 stars for the fact that I had to cut the bolt/key lock spindle and it took a bit of force and time to cut. Tin snipes worked the best to cut it but still had a bit of difficulty doing it. Wish it came with multiple lengths like it did with the handle spindle. Overall am happy with the look of it. I don’t have to worry anymore that the front door may not be locked during the summer.

an easy upgrade with a solid piece of storm door hardware
I had previously bought a generic replacement for my ailing storm door lock/handle. I hated it. It felt cheap and flimsy. But I thought... I just have to suck it up because it is no different from my other storm door locks. This year came round and I was getting more and more frustrated with the two remaining storm doors and I knew that I didn't want the big box home improvement store version so I searched. This came up and it looked attractive and sturdy. Naturally, I ordered one. It was a breeze to install. I mean, it's always going to be a little difficult to line up the pieces. That's just a given. This isn't a plug and play usb input. You do need to line up the inner metal stick. But overall, I got a better, more attractive storm door lock. It's sturdy. The manufacturer had provided all the screws I could dream of so I didn't have to go hunting in my screw jar. (I think there were three different lengths for the door width.) I bought another to replace the front door storm door as well. So I have a total of three storm doors. Two with this storm door lock. One with the home improvement lock that I'll probably replace with this same storm door lock. I highly recommend this lock. My storm doors actually stay in place. The handle is comfortable and smooth to the touch. The lever to unlock the top is easy to move and manipulate. If you're thinking of it and you have an old storm door like I do (or three in my case), I'd definitely recommend you consider this set. You're going to be stuck with the storm door handle/lock for years. You might as well be happy from the get go with a slightly more expensive model than the cheapo model. Hey, I'm planning to replace that big box version when the weather is a bit more comfortable. I lost money when I purchased that cheapo model. I should have looked on Amazon, found this one and not had to bother with storm door locks for the next 5 to 10 years. (It's a sturdy piece of hardware. I suspect this lock set will outlive the storm door.)

Nice looking, Well built, easy install
Has the option for keyed lock on outside however I only put on the inside lock. Came will all parts and extras if needed. I was able to change it out in less than 30 minutes (had help from the dogs so that slowed me down a bit). Sturdy and nice finish. It’s the exact same style as I had on it but in black so it matched with the outside remodel. Hopefully will not have to buy again lol but would definitely recommend it.

Good replacement
Bought to replace an existing handle set. Easy to install. The outside handle is hollow and is a bit uncomfortable to grab. Otherwise is fine.

Direct replacement for a 20 year old Sears purchased storm door
Purchased this handle kit for a white aluminum storm door we bought as one of two from Sears Canada in 1997. Sears Canada no longer exists to source parts. This product was a direct replacement. It took about 15 minutes to change out using the kit hardware that is included. No additional drilling or modifications were required. A very elegant looking, durable direct replacement solution. Well worth the money.

Screws a little short
Product is good and works well, installed on 4 door but on one door it was to replace old broken one the installation screws were to short, and the original lock ones were different size so could not use them ordered screws that were longer and works great.

Only solid handle I could find.
I came home opened the Amazon package and about 5 minutes later my handle was installed. The only reason it took 5 minutes was because I had to look for a screw driver. Took it out of the package the pre seized pieces worked well. No cutting required. This is amazing when I mean it feels like quality it beats anything I found in Canadian Tire and Amazon at a decent price. If you need a storm door handle just buy this one don't waste money elsewhere.
