The Hape - Playfully Delicious - Homemade Pizza Play Set is one of our dear grandson favorite additions. It is well made, and reasonably priced at $22.47. Although, many of the other "playfully delicious" add-ons are below $20, making the pizza set one of the more expensive kitchen accessories in the kitchen product line. As many of the other reviews point out, the pizza is made of a mixture of felt and wooden food. This mixture of felt and wood does lead to the peppers and onions being difficult to keep on the pizza, but the play has led to some interesting math-based and problem-solving conversations between myself and my young grandson. This include: • what if you place the onions or peppers "in the middle" of each pizza? • do you think the peppers and onions on the edges fall off easier? • what happens if you only use (insert quantity) onions/peppers? • have you tried putting "half" of the wooden pieces on the pizza? This may sound silly, but the research is clear, these type of open ended questions, help to build a young child's vocabulary and strengthen problem solving skills, No matter how you and your child tackle making of the perfect pizza pie, I hope Hape's - Playfully Delicious - Homemade Pizza Play Set will bring giggles to the special children in your life too. salute!

Good, could be better.

Super cute! My 4 year old loved it. I just wish all the toppings were felt. The peppers and onions are wood and slide off when you "eat" the pizza.

Great idea, but...

This is a great gift for children who have a toy kitchen. Both of my grandchildren loved this gift. I think that one should know that there are many, many pieces to this toy. There are 4 of each of the following: Pizza crust, tomato sauce, cheese, onions, green peppers, mushrooms and pepperoni. It is great that the kids can make their pizza to order; it's just that the pieces fall off of the slices and there is generally a mess of pizza parts in the play room! I think it would be a better toy if the slices had all of the ingredients attached permanently or if there was a way for the ingredients to stay on better.

My 4 year old loves to play with this pizza set. The other "ingredients" or toppings such as the green peppers and onions are made of a wood-like material which looks great and is easy to grasp for little hands. I wish the materials used were all the same wood-like. Not but bad for the price though!

Too much felt

For being named "Wooden Pizza Play Kitchen Food Set" I was definitely expecting this set to be, well, made of wood. The product description mentions wood and non-toxic paint on wood and only once mentions "various materials" before talking about the wooden pieces again. If I had known that the crust, sauce, cheese, mushrooms, and pepperonis were a thin felt, I would have purchased a set from a different brand. The set is cute and the wooden elements are great, but the set overall is kind of a flop because of the felt pieces. My 2.5 year old gets frustrated that everything slides around and falls apart and I hate that all the random lint/dust/crumbs get stuck in the felt when the pieces get lost in/under the couches. The 5 year old has more patience for this set but I don't see it getting a sustained amount of playtime.

I loved the product itself but it wasn’t packaged in any bag or box , it was intended to be a gift for my son who happened to see it so I wasn’t that happy that it didn’t come in a bag or anything for discreet delivery

Love the idea

Love the idea, and the quality of the wood pieces is good. The sauce, dough and cheese parts are just felt, but ok. Nothing attaches to anything (ie. no velcro) which is fine, as it makes for more variatey in play I felt. The product is smaller than expected, but ok. Comes with a paper bag to hold it all, that lasts about 10 minutes. A more permanent container of some kind would be better.

Lovely idea

My daughter loves this, the only problem is the pieces slip off really easily and she gets frustrated with it. Would be so much better if it had velcro to hold it in place.
