Great for all my gear

I'm 5'5" and this is a little long on me--it covers the rear pockets of my jeans completely. However, it carries all my gear, and doesn't look like a fishing vest. Honestly, a fishing vest would be more efficient for my needs--but it would look like a fishing vest. I work with people experiencing homelessness on the street. I carry two phones, my wallet, Narcan, chapstick, Airpods, a flashlight, a pocket knife, a tac pen, pocket-sized notebook, latex gloves, and prepackaged wipes for my glasses. Plus, I still have a couple free pockets for my hands. That makes for a heavy vest, but I'm a lot more nimble than when I carried a bag. And that was the point. This jacket does its job. All the bulgy pockets don't look amazing, but I'm not wearing this for fashion. I'll definitely wear this when traveling, too. One less carry-on.

Good for intended purpose...

I have a CCP and purchased this vest for use with a T-shirt during the hot summer months. For the purpose of discreet belt carry, the vest is nearly ideal. It is very light and appears to be well made. Mine is made of nylon and polyester and was manufactured in India. The zipper-pull is on the right side as you wear the vest. As for sizing, I purchased a "large". While I would describe the cut as "slim," it still gives me enough room to be comfortable and to avoid excessive "printing" with my 44" chest and 37" waist. However, if your build is more "stout" or if you plan on wearing it with heavier clothing such as a sweatshirt, you may wish to consider going up a size from your norm. I gave it four stars as I feel the exterior pockets, which are plentiful, could have been a little deeper. As it is, my 6.25"X3.25" smartphone barely fits in the two zippered exterior pockets. Anything much bigger would be a problem. That said, the two interior mesh pockets are quite big (approx.10"X5.5") and would work for a larger smartphone. All in all, my initial impression is that this vest is good value for the money. Hope you find this helpful......

Well constructed, light and the grey looks great. Perfect travel vest with minimal warming.

What's not to like? This is lightweight, well built and a good color in grey. I ordered a "L" and it came as an "3XL" (!!!!!!) but fit just fine. I just ordered my T-shirt size and that was fine.

Easy Access While on the Road

I purchased this vest to wear on a 2 week motorcycle trip to Glacier National Park this summer. Needed to be able to access chapstick, sunscreen, tissues, camera, wallet, hand sanitizer and sunglasses while riding as a passenger. Was pretty light weight on 90 degree temps. Zippers worked. Inside pocket was deep enough to hold a 20 ounce HydraFlask. For reference, I’m a 125 lb, 5’ 3” female and I ordered size M.

Fantastic

I was looking for a light weight comfortable vest to use in warmer weather, also i was looking for side pocket's for phone, wallet and travel needs, that is exactly what i got, I love my new travel vest!! It will meet all my Expectations!!! 5 plus stars!!!!!!!

Sleek vest suitable for travel

I was looking for a sleek vest to use for travel. It would need to have four secure pockets for wallet, passport, plane/train ticket, and some miscellaneous stuff such as earbuds. This Columbia vest fits the bill nicely. It's light, has a comfortable stretch, not too many pockets, and a style that says "adventure." My Scott eVest has about 47 more pockets than I know what to do with and that weighs the garment down too. Other "utility" vests look like a bunch of bulging pockets even when the pockets are empty. A few notes on the vest: 1. It fits loosely so if you're lean, size down. If you want to carry a lot in those pockets, stick with your regular size. 2. The pockets are on the small side. The zippered pocket behind the chest flap pocket will fit a large-ish phone but not a phablet. The slanted chest pocket is difficult to use but would hold train tickets. The two zippered pockets around the waist are small but will hold a wallet and earbuds. 3. Nice hand pockets behind the zippered pockets at the waist, so you can still get some warmth while carrying stuff around. 4. There are two open, mesh pockets inside the vest that you can drop miscellaneous stuff into. They're deep. I may add velcro to one of them to make it more secure. To get 5 Stars, Columbia could make the waist-level zippered pockets deeper, install a two-way zipper, and add a zipper to at least one of the inside pockets.

Watch out for US sizing

This is an excellent gilet. It doesn't have the bulging pockets that almost every other vest has. I wish it had fewer stitch lines on the front (they are stylistic rather than functional) for a plainer look, but nobody seems to make one for sale in India. Caution though: the sizing is US size, not the European size we typically use in India. This vest is sold as a Medium, but is actually sized as a Large. If you wear Medium, buy a Small.
