No need to flip food
My biggest concern was whether the underside of my breaded food would crisp without turning. I have 5 air fryers, not all dedicated stsnd alone, and only the original ninja grill/air fryer and a Phillips, that I gave away, were able to do this. This 8 qt Chefman did indeed crisp the underside of my breaded cutlets without turning, just have to spray both sides. Don't be dismayed by the low 1300 watts as this unit uses halogen bulb as heat source. This turns on and off as it regulates temperature and gets very hot. It also serves as the.internal light source as there is no dedicated light. It is very bright with amazingly clear visibility of the cooking food. The two memory settings as well as the default air fry setting are all 400° and 15 minutes. My ninja which was my goto air fryer is 390° and 20 minutes. Yet the Chefman produced.much crisper cutlet and crispy smashed potatoes than the ninja on its trial run. I'll probably lower memory settings to 390° as the cutlet came out super crispy and some potato pieces were all crisp with little internal fluff. I'll need to make bigger pieces next time. Haven't used the probe yet. Nice to have the 2 minute extra and the 450° for 2 minute controls but haven't used them either. Front panel controls are super intuitive to use. Temperature can be controlled in 5° increments I'm used to using tongs to remove good from ninja so not big deal here for me but the crisper plate is not super tight and might fall out if you turn basket upside down. Nice 10" x 10: cooking area is just slightly larger the majority of air fryers but the square shape does allow for plenty of single layer food. Unit comes well packaged, nothing broken or bent. Small footprint for an 8 qt, just taller than some others. Will update once I do more cooks and regulate Temperature settings as this Chefman cooks hotter and faster than all my other air fryers. Biggest shortcoming is not having on/off switch so have to unplug or panel stays lighted and time/temp contues to alternate.

Omg... What took me so long!?
I thought these things were a joke. I bought this model based on Consumer Reports' recommendation. If you have seen the $10,000 Turbo Chef ovens used a Starbucks to heat food, this thing is a slice of that tech, but for $100! No preheating is needed. I can reheat most leftovers in 3 minutes or less. 5 mins will get you ouch-finger hot. Cleaning is VERY EASY! Two fingers lift the bottom tray, run it under water and wash with a simple paper towel and dish soap most times and/or a bristle dish brush. Wipe dry. Same with the basket. I hand dry it then run it for about a minute to dry the moisture in between the glass window and leave it be. Nothing special to read in the instructions except the temperature probe. I messed up by not paying attention to the instructions. ???? If you use the probe for chicken and press the Chicken preset button, for example, 165 is the target temp. It cooks to 165 but doesn't tell you, because it RESTS the food with the fan on once it gets to temp. So I'm standing there watching the food temperature go down. Earlier I had walked away so I didn't hear the beep when it was done. I turned it back on to bring the temperature back up and overcooked the chicken. The second time I cooked chicken with the probe I manually input the temperature and the thing turned off when done as you would expect. So use probe = set temperature manually. This thing only uses 1000 watts! I'm kind of a geek and love nice things, and believe in Buy nice or buy twice. This is the one. Zero problems after a month. I don't hate much in the world, but really dislike stuff sitting on my kitchen counter, like, I tolerate my toaster oven. This thing is my hero because of how useful it is and it definitely gets a spot even after the remodel.

Works fine but gotta be careful
Got this machine. It works fine but gotta be careful when baking some stuff as time doesnt seem optimized. For fries, it keeps running for 20 minutes. In 20 minutes, fries will become extremely hard and inedible. So user has to turn it off at 10 minutes (for frozen fries), as that is when fries are backed and soft. Also, not sure about taste, but i dont really like the baked fries taste. Not sure if the fryer is to be blamed. Havent had to clean it yet, so not sure how much effort that would be. Also i hate that a tiny press on timer, either takes it +5 or -5 really quick. So those touch buttons are really poorly made and are too sensitive.

Great Air Fryer
I didn’t know what to expect after reading reviews of dozens of air fryers and am happy to have selected the perfect one for me! It's simple and easy to use. The instructions are clearly written. OK, I've only used it once, but as a first-time air fryer user, who didn't want a fryer that did dozens of other things, I couldn't be happier with my choice. I was not compensated in any way for this review.

CHEFMAN 5-Quart Digital Air Fryer.
This has to be the best item I've ever bought. I absolutely love this Air Fryer. So easy to use and clean. I love being able to see the food cooking. Foods come out tasting incredible & it's so quick to make them.

I'm finding new uses for this. Very useful because microwave died and I disconnected my oven/range (because it was gas). Nice and easy to watch food as it cooks. Much crisper and better tasting than microwave for many things.
