Runs very large

I purchased size 16 and 18 for my boys, they were extremely large on them. I have purchased French Toast before and was very happy in the past, which is why I did not hesitate to purchase so many this time. But even the size 16 was way too big on my son who I purchased sized 18 for. Had to return all of them unfortunately. They are stiff, but that keeps them looking fresh looking all year long.
