Perfect for a heat shield in the kitchen.
This is only way I could keep the heat near the range and away from the walls . I have had plastic sheets 1/4 inch thick melt from the heat. These panels reflect all the heat. They look stylish in a stainless kitchen and are easy to clean.

Nice Plain Stainless
I'm very happy with this. I wanted a simple stainless backsplash. My wife wanted something with a pattern. Since I'm the cook and cleaner, I don't want textured surface to clean. Plus what we saw were all stick-ons. I'm thinking sooner or later stick-ons fall off from the harsh environment over the stove. And the ones that don't fall off ruin the drywall when you need to remove them. I installed this with screws only. It lays reasonably flat against the wall. I might put a micro bead of caulk around the edges to prevent any water getting behind from a large splash or while cleaning. I didn't want to glue or caulk behind it in case I want to remove it without destroying it. Installation tips at the end of the review. I was worried about shipping but this came well packed. Even though I bought this as Amazon Prime, I believe Amazon drop shipped this one from NuTone. It came in a heavy flat cardboard box but the box was thoroughly fiberglass strapped to a sheet of Masonite board larger than the box on all sides. The Masonite had chipped edges and corners but the product box was unscathed as was the actual sheet. The good side had protective film and the non-filmed side looked pretty good but brushed a little more coarsely. Not sure why they call this 'reversible'. The 'good side' was finished identically as my NuTone hood. Mine is magnetic. Neodymium magnets stick very strongly. Regular magnets stick ok too. Tips... Check the wall first and scrape off any imperfections that might prevent the sheet from laying flat. Leave protective film on. Take your time and drill your holes carefully. I held in place and marked all holes. Then I drilled one top hole and installed the drywall anchor. I held the sheet up again and installed the one screw and rechecked the other top hole location. Remove, drill, repeat. I rechecked the fit and my marks before drilling each hole. Drill bits tend to wander in drywall so I used a tiny pilot bit first. You want these holes PERFECT. If the screws bind with the holes on the backsplash, the sheet will not lay flat when you get all 4 in. #8 screws are recommended but I used #6 stainless screws and washers to give me a little more leeway. When you are finally ready to screw it down, peel back the film only at each corner. Screw it down and don't crank the screws hard at all. Just very gently snug. Now peel the film off. Be careful, it's stuck pretty good so peel at a low angle to not accidentally pull/bend the sheet away from the wall. Press down on the sheet as you peel just in case. If you have some gaps to the wall, squeeze a drop of calk under it and tape down till dry. I don't recommend applying glue or caulk to the back prior to installing. You will surely bend the material and ruin the drywall if you ever need to remove this for some reason.

Finishing touch to new stove
Not only does it protect and look good, but also served as a mounting plate for an AmGood 30" shelf (also Amazon). And it's thick and heavy ! I had to use a tripod to support it during installation. The shelf needed the backsplash because the mounting brackets didn't align with the studs. So I was able to use rivets instead of wallboard anchors because the Broan-NuTone backsplash plate was so thick and solid. Installation was challenging because the stove had to be moved out from the wall. Along with the shelf, it was a 4+ hour project. I don't know EXACTLY how long it took, but it was some time after I went hoarse from all the swearing ...

Sharp edges
This item was actually sturdier than I was expecting, so that's a plus. However, for the price, I was surprised to find that the edges hadn't been smoothed after being cut. If I hadn't instinctively checked that first, I could have been seriously injured when handling this product. Be careful.

Watch your fingers
It is a nice sheet of stainless. Pre-drilled holes help. But, watch your hands. It is simply sheared and shipped. Cut edge is not deburred and is sharp! I deburred prior to handling and mounting. Looks good installed.

Temporary Backsplash That Gets The Job Done
After getting new appliances, the oven we chose didn’t have any kind of backsplash. Since we’ll eventually put in tile, we decided on this for an oven backsplash. It was actually thicker than I thought it would be after reading some reviews. I’d have to agree with other reviewers that screws should have been provided. I didn’t have any issues wit bent corners or scratches. It came packaged like a painting. I did go out and buy some drywall anchors and screws (#10 or 3/16”). After peeling only the corners of the protective film, I put it where I wanted and with the help of another person, marked the screw holes. I will have to say that doing this BEFORE the installation of the stove would have made this a whole lot easier. As it was I had to pull the oven out because the backsplash extended below the back of the oven. I did run into the issue of putting it as high as I could that made drilling and then screwing in the screws a little difficult (drill clearance). Initially I left the screws a little loose so I could have a little maneuvering room while installing the screws (a two person job, unless you’re putting on some kind of adhesive). Unless you are below eye level of the microwave you don’t even see the screws. After I tightened all the screws I removed the protective film. If you’re using only adhesive, I’d make sure you’re hold it as pulling off the film made the backsplash bow. If I didn’t use wall anchors I can see it pulling out of the wall. Overall it didn’t take that long to install. I like the finished look as it matches the other appliances.

Package and product were damaged by the shipper. They immediately dealt with the issue. So pleased with this vendor. It is perfect for when the stove is right up against a wall.

Nice backsplash
Fits a standard 30" stove opening. Works great for backless stoves with controls on the front. Easy to clean with stainless steel cleaner and saves my walls. Simple installation and was packaged well. Good value compared to other big box stores.
