Great back up pair of boots
These were the closest thing to the boots I usually wear. It's a solid product and they have held up great in the time I've had them.

A boot built for work
I’ve been wearing these boots for years. I normally get about 10 months to a year out of them, I work in water purification/treatment so they get treated rough, hard well water, dirt and rocks not to mention chemicals (Chlorine, Muriatic acid...etc) They are as comfortable as an actually durable work boot can be once broken in. Oh and get some paracord for laces

Break in required, paper thin insoles, but very durable so far.
So far so good with these boots. I work in a factory on my feet all day and have been going through boots quite fast due to chemicals. I picked these up since Irish rated these as 'best' chemical resistance. I am about a month in on wearing these and they are just now breaking in and starting to get comfortable. First things first is the shoes do feel a little bit on the large side. This issue was resolved quickly however (I will elaborate later). The boot seems very durable and I like the seeming lack of stitch points that could come apart. Comfort and fit: 3 out of 5 (poor insoles and painful first week of break in probably a 4 out of 5 after break in period) Fit and comfort are only average. These boots unlike my last Timerlands do require some break in time I expected this and I hope this just lends to the toughness and durability of the leather. While the boot is overall a little on the large side there is a point about where my toes start that it felt a little narrow. This was slightly painful the first week of wearing the boots they have broken in I don't notice it at all anymore and I think it helps keep my foot from shifting in the boot. The next thing about fit is the fact the boot does seem a little on the roomy side tallways (not so much longways though). However, the supplied insoles that come with these are worthless. You would be about as well off with a sheet of fabric in them. Seriously the insoles are paper thin and provide no comfort whatsoever. After wearing them for a couple days I purchased some thicker memory foam work insoles and the fit was MUCH MUCH better with the new insoles. I highly recommend new insoles for comfort reasons alone and they also make the boot fit much better. As far as the aluminum toe goes I haven't noticed any detriment to the day to day comfort from this feature being here. The boots don't seem overly heavy, I don't notice the aluminum digging into my toes anywhere, etc. I've dropped things that have probably landed on my feet though if they did the aluminum toe protected me. I have yet to encounter a situation where the aluminum toe was called into serious action for the protection of my foot and will update about it's protection if at any point I do. Waterproofing: 4 out of 5 While the part of this boot that IS waterproof is immaculately so these have one disadvantage to my old boots. In day to day work I have yet to notice my feet get wet a single time. The boots keep all the water out even if I happen to be standing with a flood of coolant pouring on top of them. The only thing about these is unlike my last pair of boots, which were waterproof unless you sprayed straight down your leg into them, when I go to clean these boots off with a water hose and I spray up towards the laces my foot will get wet. Not a big deal but I soaked myself the first night after being used to my old boots I could spray off in this area. Durability: 2 out of 5 The look was very nice when they were brand new. Mine changed colors about an hour after I wore them out on the floor (not the boots fault I had coolant pouring on them for an hour straight as I worked on something). The look now isn't nearly as nice but it's a work boot so I don't really care about that. The insoles are holding up very well so far. They often get caked up with a black sludge, and when I clean them off the soles look as new and intact as the day I took them out of the box. This has come as a very pleasant surprise as most other boots I've tried so far barely lasted a week before they started showing signs of wear from the chemicals and I was getting skeptical any boot no matter how chemical resistant would be able to hold up. I will update to just how long the boots do end up lasting and hopefully it will be a while before I do so. Conclusion: 4 out of 5 At the end of the day if these boots show the durability that I'm beginning to think they may have due to the lack of wear thus far Irish Setter will have earned themselves a customer for life. You can always use a good strong durable pair of boots. Even with the break in considered if they came with a better insole I would be hard pressed to find anything to knock a star off of these boots for. Do yourself a favor, pick up these boots, and a pair of insoles to go with them. UPDATE: 12/22/2015 Well I have to say I am dissapointed. Here I am about 5 months in and I'm already shopping for new boots. While the soles on the bottoms of these shoes still look absolutely phenomenal the leather on the top of the shoes is falling apart. It has several gashes in both shoes and the leather on the toe of one shoe has essentially disintegrated. I bought these because they were supposed to be resistant to chemicals but it seems they are anything but. I'm going to have to try something different and find a way to protect leather from the coolant.

Worth every cent!
These boots hold up to the grease, oil and cement slurry that he's in 5 days a week. When I say hold up usually we get 7 months to a year out of 1 pair. I keep two pairs on hand just to extend their life and because it's better for his feet. As a diabetic those feet are important!

This is a very comfortable boot and has served me well during the last year. Nice, comfortable insoles. I work as an automotive technician so I am on my feet all day and work in ice and snow conditions. These boots keep my feet warm and comfortable, and also keep them dry. I have high arches so a lot of boots are uncomfortable. These boots work well for people with high arches like mine.

Would be 5 stars but each shoe was a little different shade to them. The fit of the shoe was great. I also didn't like the laces it comes with. They don't stay ties very well. Overall I would buy again. Just hope they are the same color next time.

Not comfortable at all
Usually love the Irish setters. These do not fit at all like my other boots I've bought from them. They are too loose and hurt. The steel toe digs into my toes. I'll think hard before I buy from Irish setter or Redwing again.
