Comfortable to wear

These shoes are very comfortable to wear for working. The insoles wore out after only a short time and my feet started to hurt. I purchased superfeet insoles and now the shoes are like new again

Had to return them

I was bummed to reread other reviews and the same thing happened with this pair. The toe box on the right boot is way too small. What's odd, my left foot is bigger than my right. They would be nice boots if the composite toe fit..

Amazingly Comfortable

This is an amazingly comfortable boot. It needed no break in period. I had never tried Ariat boots and was a bit hesitant to order without having tried them on, but I was not satisfied with the comfort or durability of those "work styled" boots that abound. While up in KC at the Kauffman Garden, I bugged a woman working there about her boots and that's how I came to Ariat. She was right! My only complaint is that these boots' sole is not designed for garden duty: they pick up debris and transport it in even if you try to brush or rinse them. The tiny shapes that make up the bottom surface really hold onto anything that gets down in there. Clearly, they were made for indoor or hard surfaces outdoors, so there is no fault to the boot. I just love the way the sole is attached old-school style with rugged stitches rather than that modified tennis shoe fashion with glue that pulls away when subjected to too much moisture or overly dry conditions. Despite the mess from the tight tread pattern, the fact that I can last all day squatting, and turning compost, and slinging mulch makes me very happy to own these boots! I see myself buying another pair of Ariats down the road to get the tread I want, but I will not be ditching these babies anytime soon!

Wide? Really?

These are labeled wide, but they were not what I would consider wide. The toe on one shoe seemed a little tighter than on the other shoe. And in overall my right foot was sore. I'm not sure if I broke in the shoe, or the shoe broke in my feet, but it doesn't seem to bother quite as much now. Not a whole lot that could be done to stretch since these have composite toe.

Narrow length & width shoe.

Shoe seems to be well made. However, order a whole size bigger. I wear an 8 wide, but I order an 8 1/2 wide. Length is ok, but not if I wear thick socks. Width is not good. I've used shoe stretchers for 48 hrs., yet the toe area is still not wide enough for comfort. The toe area is a composite and I can sure feel it, when I have the shoes on. I think that is why, the toe area won't stretch. Not sure I would buy them even in a whole size larger.

The boot came in to small. Had to exchange for a size up and they are still tight around the toe.

The toe box width is very tight. Thecrest of the boot is great.
