Comfortable boot, slippery on wet cement

I got these boots to replace my old snowboots I’d had for a long time. They are very comfortable and warm and keep my feet dry. We just went to Disneyland and it was going to rain hard one day so I brought a rain suit and these boots and wore them for 11 hours walking around the park and standing in lines and my feet were fine! 4/5 stars only because I have noticed if I’m on any kind of wet, smooth surface they are VERY slippery compared to other shoes and boots.

Good hunting boot but order a size larger than you wear.

These BOGs were a steal. I ordered a pair in my regular size (13) that Amazon said were "used, very good" for $62. I guess someone ordered them and had to return them because they were too small. They were brand new with box and tags. The boots are great but make sure you order a half to full size larger that you regularly wear. I can't wear them but my step son can so I'm keeping them.

Nice boots but -

I have a pair of Bogs boots that fit great. But this model does not work for me with my high instep. The instep area is not very large when measured front to back. I can force them on but need help to get them back off. Foot size does not seem to matter. I got size 18, though I only need 16. But that instep is a deal breaker.

Warm. Beefy.

These are actually pretty serious Winter boots. I bought these for work. I'm a dock truck driver in Minnesota. Multiple stops per day. Too warm for in-and-out of the truck And in a cool warehouse. I experienced a lot of foot sweat. I wound up buying a lighter pair for work but kept these for around the house and outdoor winter chores snow blowing and what not. If you're outside for long periods doing light or moderate activity these are the best boot you can find. No joke. Waterproof without question. I've had other similar slip on hunting boots that always wind up cracking or splitting after a month or 2. Not these. They're built for the long haul. Highly recommend

My first pair.

My wife and friends have had this brand for years. I finally gave in and purchase a pair. I won't wear any other brand again. Was in some big "puddles" on our property and they kept me warm and dry. Did not get wet at all.

Finally a size 21 winterized and waterproof boot!

Nice, waterproof and insulated soft flexible gumboot style boots. Wonderful to get all the way up to size 21! Love to wear them extra long and roomy for the width I need and pack the toe with wool or synthetic yarn to adjust internal size and properly insulate the toe which otherwise gets cold in most boots. Rather have them loose than tight. Before this I was wearing crude homemade moccasins like giant polar fleece tube socks in winter because I couldn't find boots that fit and before that I just didn't have boots or shoes for winter, only sandals which is silly in snow. Not going to lie they aren't perfect but they are wonderful to have compared to not having. Main areas of potential improvement I see are smell, durability and breath-ability. Smell: They off-gas a bit of chemical odor and this can increase when you wear them and your body heats and moistens them with body heat and sweat. I suggest leaving them to air for a few months or more before wearing if you have that luxury. Durability: I'm very heavy 260+lbs and relatively fit and active for my weight so I wear a bit harder on stuff than smaller lighter people. I have also got a shorter version of these ordered a few months earlier and worn much more than these (have mostly been sitting on shelf off-gassing) and already a bit of cloth has kind of pulled up from the bottom sole. Nothing major, doesn't prevent them being useful but shows they may wear out faster than I would hope. Hopefully they are good at least a few years and then I just really need another pair in 21m. Breath-ability: they are not breathable. They are waterproof but if your foot sweats it will literally get boggy like a bog in your bogs boots. The water won't get in but it will stay in and may even condense on the side or make it feel soggy if you can't air it out in time. This can be a problem if you get very sweaty and active. Short of using new materials there is not much they or you can do except make and buy extra big to allow as much air circulation into and out of the boot from the top as possible even while your foot and leg are inside it. I rated this wonderful product 4 stars versus a hypothetical 5 star waterproof-breathable (oilskin canvas, likely from hemp, would be the traditional material and new synthetics are still inferior in all qualities and durability) boot with a 5 to 10 year high-use-live-in-your-boots lifespan and all vegan and natural plant based materials like oilskin canvas sides and natural organic latex rubber or latex/canvas/natural resin/wood mix sole. I can't find such a wonderful product currently though common sense says this is how our ancestors would have once made their bogs-like boots. So unless someone makes it and advertises in a way you or I can find maybe this is the best you can find for now or at least next best to custom made by a really good and dedicated all-natural vegan cobbler. I can't even find anyone offering those services, they all use leather but maybe someone can do it themselves.

Brilliant but for one thing

Fit, warmth, comfort are all great. But, traction on ANY wet surface is a bother. The little soft-rubber inserts on the otherwise hard-rubber (plastic-like) bottom are about a mere 2mm high, are simply not enough gripping-contact on any surface, especially muddy surfaces. This one design skimping ruins what could be the ultimate wellie.
