Purchased this bag as a solution to a problem experienced frequently while boating. We boat very frequently - at least once or twice a week in the warm months. During our time on the lake, etc., I've always used regular luggage (i.e. backpack, tote, etc.). When we do water sports, or anything else that gets a lot of excess water on seats or the floor, I run into the issue of bags getting soaked, and on occasion the contents in the bag getting soaked. That started to make me prioritize what I take on the boat and how I pack it. This bag has been the solution to that problem and has been used on the water for about 28 hours of boating now. It keeps everything dry. The feature I love the most is the rigid bottom of the bag. Unlike most duffles that have a soft bottom, this one has a rigid baseplate that keep the bag from bending. Makes it very nice and sturdy on the boat and it doesn't move around. The size is perfect for myself. It holds my towel, a change of clothes, water bottle, survival gear, and some light snacks. Everything else, such as food and drink, fits perfectly in my small cooler. The slight but mentionable fallbacks for the bag are the zipper, its simple design, and outer materials. The zipper is not waterproof, so the bag shouldn't be submerged, although this shouldn't be an issue for me unless the boat were to sink (if that were an issue, then the bag and its contents are the last thing on my mind). The design is simple in that there is little to no compartmentalization. No outside pockets, which was a disappointment for me since it makes it very difficult to retreive anything from the bag quickly. That paired with no compartments on the inside (besides a large mesh pocket on the inside of the top flap), makes you think twice before packing the bag down. Anything you need quickly will need to be packed on top. Finally, the materials used get VERY hot in the sun, which tends to heat the materials inside quickly. That's the simple downside to using a pvc bag. This bag serves its purpose, and for the price, I don't think it can be beaten. I may be purchasing a second for my dad or other family members that go out with us on the water.
