I am so disappointed!
I bought this top-of-the-line set of binoculars because of the ratings both here on Amazon and on Google. I also bought them as a Christmas gift for one of my best friends. She used them the day after I gave them to her, but the Compass inside ⁸doesn't work, there are supposed to be 2 shields-one for the eye side and one foe the other. 1 is missing. They were supposed to come with batteries...they are also missing. It's like the company sold me a returned pair without looking to see if something was wrong! I will be contacting both Amazon and Bushnell to see why.... *Update: Amazon let me send it back and replaced it for free. My friend took the new Bushnell binoculars with her to Upstate New York a few days later and said they were amazing! So I am changing my score to 4 stars.

Excellent binoculars!
I was looking for binoculars to use while sea kayaking and these are great. The location Finder in the view is great for when I hand them to someone else (“look at 210”). They are a bit larger than I would have liked but I wanted a 7x50 lens. Love that they’re waterproof and will float. Seller has them delivered on time and at a very reasonable cost.

Unusual focus method, tricky battery cover
I bought these binocs to replace a 15 year old West Marine model that had taken on water while stored in a cockpit locker. Thus Bushnell model has similar features, and after receiving it I am 99.9% sure that the old West Marine binocs were made by Bushnell. Very similar look and feel, down to the tricky battery cover. But first I'll mention the unusual focus. Unlike the many other binocs I have used, this Bushnell model doesn't have an overall centrally-located focus mechanism. Instead, each eyepiece has its own adjustment similar to what is usually found on only the right eyepiece. I thought this would be awkward to use, but instead found out that the binocs do not require focusing to suit a particular viewing distance. After the eyepieces are adjusted to suit your eyes, then the depth of field (beyond about 40 feet) seems to be infinite. After adjusting each eye I could look at the house across the street or at the moon without any adjustment. This is a new feature for me, and I don't see it mentioned in the specs. I haven't tried it out on the water yet but I don't expect any problems. The other issue is that, as with my old West Marine binocs, the cover on the battery compartment is very tricky to install. The problem is that the cover can interfere with the positive contact of the button cells when the cover is screwed into the case. The LED will work OK without the cover in place, but won't work when the cover is screwed in. The remedy is to very carefully align the inner rim of the cover to be outside of the positive contact before screwing it tight. If the cover is inserted at an incorrect angle the inner rim will push the positive contact away from the two button cells. Very frustrating until you figure it out. Otherwise these binocs seem to be adequate for my coastal sailing needs. I'll report any issue that arise after a sea trial.

Very disappointing
The included batteries were corroded and the the internal light would not illuminate even after the batteries were replaced with new. The original packaging was crudely cut (see photo) as to remove a feature that no longer applied. Highly unprofessional from such an iconic company.

compass illuminator doesn't work
Tried both of the supplied batteries, then tested them and they have power. The button to activate the light seems difficult to depress fully, but even then, there is no light. Not worth going through the effort to return with the added shipping costs for a feature that I will rarely use. Maybe I'll contact Bushnell about getting it fixed or replaced after the summer sailing season is over. Disappointed.

Great product, awful customer support from Bushnell
The binoculars are great. Bushnell's customer service sucks. Over the years I have used (and given to my professional colleagues) many pairs of this product. The price is reasonable. The optics are terrific, especially at night. The binocular is lightweight and waterproof. The built-in compass is an important feature. I am never without this binocular when I go to sea. In fact, I have used Bushnell binoculars, including this model, for 15+ years from Eastport, ME to Key West, FL, and will continue to do so. But don't count on the company for customer support. If your binocular is damaged (as my recent pair was damaged in a fall to the cockpit sole), Bushnell will probably deny responsibility. In my case, Bushnell wanted more for the repair ($141) than the cost of new Bushnell binoculars (same model #) from Amazon.com ($128, with no tax and free shipping). As I am a fan of Amazon, I bought TWO new binoculars from Amazon -- one as a gift to a worthy mate. Bushnell will, I hope, despite this commentary, ship the damaged binocular back to me so that I can "show-and-tell" it as an excellent example of a great product backed by awful customer support. Good optics, tough build quality, waterproof and they really do float!
Very impressed with these binos. Image quality is excellent, the compass is nicely damped and seems to work well even at fairly large angles above and below the horizontal. Unlike other binos the focusing is via each eye-piece, not a central knob. Only an issue if constantly sharing - which I will discourage crewmates from contemplating! Surprisingly and despite their heft, they do (barely) float - I tested this in a bucket of cold fresh water. They were mostly submerged, but they eyepieces were stubbornly above the water. So should be well above in salt-water. Looks like there's a filter thread for the objectives, something less than 52mm, but I haven't had time to explore properly yet. I like their performance and price-point - anything on a boat is eventually going to get wet, otherwise fail or be dropped. I think these will endure and if they fall overboard and can't be retrieved at this price I won't cry for too long.

Great
First used on an these on a Alaska Cruise (one of the standard items in the cabin). With the ease of use I just had to have one. Bought a pair when we arrived home. Love the no adjusting when switching between my wife and I.

Great quality
This is my third set, I keep one on my boat, one at the cottage and another in my truck. I find they have excellent viewing capabilities. Warranty issues with Bushnell have been few but quickly addressed. Excellent service with Bushnell.

Ideal boating binoculars
This is my first pair of binoculars, so I am not comparing them to anything previously used other than examples I have tested at the boat shows. I wanted a pair that are waterproof, reasonably light weight and reasonably priced. I've used them on the water half dozen weekends now and they are perfect for what I need them for. The features that I like on this pair is that each eye can be adjusted independently so I'm able to achieve a really sharp image. It's fairly stable on a moving boat so I'm able to identify other boats, see the channel markers and view the wildlife as we sail past. I think the price reflects the quality of this pair and I'm really pleased with them so far. I have the compass version but I'm not yet sure it is necessary for what I need. I'd recommend the 7X50mm Bushnell Marine to any boaters.

Good for the price.($230 sale)
I have 2 of these. Both work well. Clear and always in focus regardless of distance. A bit heavy though.

The individual eye piece adjustment and pseudo autofocus at relative distances.
I like the Bushnell marine binoculars as I can set the focus for the individual eye and it is more or less dialled in for multi distances. I am on the water boating a lot and sure find them useful.

Good quality. Bag too tight
Good quality. The bag is a little tight which makes it difficult to store them
