not quite up to snuff
I needed spring clamps in a hurry for a project. Amazon made that possible. I would've preferred the Collins set but it wasn't available with Prime shipping. This kit seems like a nice selection of sizes and seems a fair price for what you get. Sadly, the selection is nice but the clamps themselves are lacking. The points on 90% of them are poorly formed and need to be filed or ground before they'll bite properly. If you force them into the wood to get them to bite they leave an unnecessarily large wound. To have to spend so much time cleaning up a $65 kit seems all wrong. After filing the points they work fine. Because I had to supply a lot of the labor involved in the creation of this product I'm knocking off two stars. My guess is you'll have to do the same. When I buy chisels or planer knives I know I'm going to have to sharpen them. But these, I don't think so. Why didn't I return them? I needed them pronto. Now that I've done the work that should've been done at the factory I'm good with them.

It works but could be a little better made. The clamps are less than great
It works but could be a little better made. The clamps are less than great. The grabbing points of the spring clamps are roughly finished and slip off the clamped corners that they are supposed to hold on to. By the time I was able to get the claps to work the corners were all torn up and had to be filled and sanded. They should have been sharpened with a file or a grinding wheel, not just sheer cut on a machine that needed the blades replaced.

Works ok.
It is functional for the price and what it does (especially considering the cost of similar items). My only complaint so far is it is difficult to get the clamps placed into the tool spreader. They spreader tool seems to be made just a bit to big and I have to manually force the spring on to the clamp. Not very easy to use, but once in place, the tool & clamps work as they should.

clamp
Although in the beginning i like the concept but, after using this clamp i wasn't to happy with the marks that it left on the wood pieces. i found it awkward to use and found myself wanting to fill in the holes that it left. like most woodworker I'm always looking for that perfect clamp and i have to say this is not it but, in all fairness i suppose this clamp set has a place in the work shop.

Easy to use
Easy to use. Great Price. Holds various size mitered corners with ease. This does leave a indentation, but can easily be filled in. Husband is a Master Woodworker and Loves them. From Picture Frames to Door Casing these are the ticket.

Leaves holes in your work
I like to use crown molding in making custom moldings for windows and doorways. Getting the small peices to stay together long enough while the glue dries or tacking it with a nail is difficult. I read about Miter clamps and read that they are used for the corners of frames, etc. I thought this would be the ticket. With this set, the clamps have sharp points that dig into the wood when they are applied. This I find un-acceptable for the finished product. The product works as defined - it holds things together - so that is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. However I can not see using this tool on finish work.

great tool!
super handy for miters, especially if it's all going to get painted and filled. good for bright work also, but only if you can hide the "bite" marks from the clamps.
