Great for a tight spot
Wanted an umbrella that can fit next to the house and also inside the screen so I got a half umbrella and this base. It works as long as the half of the umbrella is on the same side as the half of the base, obviously. the umbrella does sometimes spin so if it spins 180 over the pool, the base is inclined to tip that way too so I have to really tighten it down. It does work though and it’s a great space saver!

Cantilever umbrella base
Looks like it is made well. I think mine was a return and resell because there was water in the sections. I guess the first owner was too lazy to empty completely. Otherwise it seems fine

Got the job done
This stand worked well with holding my umbrella down. I just wished it wasn’t so bulky but it held down the umbrella better than a previous stand I bought. So I recommend getting this one.

Works okay but has some instability
Easy to put together and all parts were there. On the bottom where the round plate screws in there are two plastic nubs (half moon shape) slightly raised, and the metal plate has holes which should align with those nubs to secure it from turning. Problem is these nubs aren’t high enough to lock the round plate from turning. Even though I tightened the screw as tight as I could it will still rotate a little. There is also a very small gap between the tube the umbrella sits in and the plastic base that holds water. Once I added our 7.5’ umbrella it leaned slightly. I had to cut zip ties and insert them (see pic) to stabilize it. That done it works okay, but I always close the umbrella when I’m not using it since it’s free standing.

Exactly what it is supposed to do
This is a great base for a half umbrella for your patio; good value for the price. The material is super sturdy and this does exactly what it’s supposed to do as an umbrella base. The only bad thing is, the construction of the inside of the base makes it almost impossible to get all of the water out if you want to empty it. There is only one drain or fill hole, and there’s a lip around the edge of the hole on the inside so you cannot just turn it upside down and drain the water.

Keep Looking....
I first filled this with water, then sand. The sand has to be funneled into the tiny hole on top. Neither was heavy enough. This may work ok for a small 8ft umbrella in a climate with very little wind but don't waste your money if that is not your situation. I threw mine in the trash. The design is very unstable. Spend the money and get a cast iron or heavy resin base.

Works as Described
I"m using it to anchor a market umbrella over a patio table. It's probably a little light for the size of the umbrella, but it is in a semi-protected area, and as long as I remember to crank the umbrella down on windy days, I think it will be fine as it is pretty sturdy and is holding the umbrella stand firmly. Super easy to set up.

Umbrella
I would have given this product a five star; however, it was missing a screw that attaches the round plate to the bottom of base. If I receive the screw from the sender, I will change the review to a five.

Very Poor design - Sleeve/Tube holding umbrella is not secured into the base.
The sleeve/tube that the umbrella pole fits into cannot be secured into the base. There is a plate that screws into the tube and that tube simply slides into the hole of the base without it being secured to the actual base (other than the weight of the base sitting on it). This implies that the umbrella will spin with the slightest wind. I addressed this defect by having a plate welded to the base to prevent it from spinning as seen in the picture. I would not purchase this product until the manufacturer addresses this defect on their own (unless you have a round umbrella :).
