Very cute gift!

I gave this to my niece a couple years ago. She was still using it this summer for a couple of frogs she had found and it seemed to be in pretty good shape considering how long she has had it. It is such a cute little critter carrier!

Item is awesome - shipping NOT SO MUCH...

This item is great. Bigger than I expected. Very cool for the critter lovers.... but whoever ships these things could do a much better job. They come just like you see them, so I was surprised when the first two were shipped loose inside a big box. They were fine. They are pretty rugged. But today I got one in a shipping bag, loose with other items and there must have been some rough transit because it's crushed on two sides... just like my hopes of gifting it.

Spice up your Bug Hunts

My 2 and 4 year old have enjoyed this bug house quite a bit. They love that the bugs can "sit" in the chair, or "climb" the tree, or "swim" in the water. The magnifying glass is pretty dinky and doesn't really work great, but it's fine for my kids. The handle on the bug house is super awesome for the kids. We have found that when it is in the upright position there's a hole that allows smaller bugs to escape. My kids have filled this with water, and it has held up. Nothing has faded or scratched off. The one issue we've had with the house is that the clear plastic scuffs pretty easily; I included a picture to illustrate. To be fair, my kids have rolled it on the ground while looking for the bugs inside, so it's not entirely the house's fault. The plastic is, however, super durable in that its got some flex and give to it that helps prevent holes or punctures. Overall, this is a great outdoor toy for kids that adds some fun to the traditional bug catching. UPDATE: - A year and a half later and my kids STILL love this product. Furthermore, they have been incredibly rough with it: filling it with sand, tossing it around, filling it with rocks, you name it! It has held up super well. The plastic exterior has a handful of scratches (which still don't impede seeing the bugs inside), but no cracks whatsoever. This has been a nice addition to our outdoor toys.

Great little bug house!

This has been my daughters bug house for roly polys, praying mantis, butterflies, moths, caterpillars, worms, ladybugs and milk bugs. Overall it has held up to a lot of wear and tear and despite being dropped multiple times it has not cracked. It has adequate air vents in the top, but the holes aren’t too large to let small bugs escape. The lid also screws off for easy cleaning. The furniture inside is attached and super cute as the bugs can lounge on it. The clear plastic that surrounds it is not as thick as I’d like as it does dent if pushed on too hard. It can be popped back into place though. I would definitely recommend this for kids who love to catch and care for bugs of their own.

Kids like it

Wish the bottom wasn’t made of paper- it’s impossible to clean and I feel like it’s going to get ruined pretty fast. Such a cute habitat though. The kids really enjoy it.

Perfect bug lover gift!

My 4 year old loves this. Our girl is obsessed with ants, beetles, lady bugs etc. ( she didn't get that from her mom). Looked into a bug home after we got tired of saving spaghetti sauce jars for her to collect her little crawly critters. This was the best gift ever for a little bug lover! Its light weight so she can carry it around the backyard with her ( we take it on walks sometimes too) seals completely so no risk of bugs escaping but the top is still vented to allow air and its easy to clean, the top spins off for quick emptying. The only thing we don't love is the bug tweezers they don't work that well but it wasn't a huge issue shes used to picking them up with her little fingers anyway. Recommend as a fun idea for toddlers who just love bugs.

It's an OK bug jar

Start off with the positives...its def cute, gotta love all the little details that any child would love. It's a wonderful for any bug, plus it comes with a little magnifier. However it seems slightly lacking in a few areas. First, don't add any dirt at all because the dirt will just pour out through the small holes, that I neglected to notice, in the bottom and leave little pikes of dirt as you kiddo carries the jar all around your home. The handle on top is pretty necessary to help carry this large jar but it's set at an angle so the jar is a bit tippy when it's used. It's also not easy for a little one to get the handle lifted as it's kind of "hidden" in the lid. But, it does function well enough. Also, the inside "floor" is paper, so be careful when washing the jar, needs to be wiped dry right away so the picture isn't ruined. We do like the jar but some minor tweaks would make it perfect.

Angled lid and not glass spider tank alternative!

I love it just wish the items would pop out. I am going to use it as a spider tank for my pet jumping spider. I like it as it is not glass and has an angled lid which works great for spiders who like to build their homes directly on the tops of tanks so I do not ruin his home every time I open it.

Crushed in bowl with delivery. Popped it back into shape, but now have a few dents!

Very cute, but the packaging is nonexistent. Thrown into a box, and the bowl was crushed in. I managed to get it popped back out, but there are visible dents in it now. Not giftable. Too bad, it is adorable for bugs to vacation while viewing for a short time before releasing them back to their home environment. I’ll keep it for at home viewing and get a different one for the gift. Thank you.

My kids love making homes for bugs in the summer to watch them whilst playing in the garden, these just add to the fun. The actual globe bit on this model seems a little less sturdy than the underwater themed one we have but will do the job just the same.
