Tripod Sprinkler
This sprinkler worked perfect. We had reseeded our lawn and needed to water. Because we're on a well our pressure isn't the best. This sprinkler resolved our problem and did everything the add said it would do.

Works but not heavy duty
Wish they were more heavy duty. Nice job otherwise

Very well made and easy to move around the yard
My previous sprinkler was similar to this sprinkler head, although the bottom was a spike that had to be pushed into the ground (rather than the tripod). This meant I had to shut of the sprinkler each time that I wanted to relocated it. Then I had to push it into the ground at the new position, and turn it back on. The 'Lawn Impact Sprinkler on Tripod Base' is much easier to use and relocate. I can easily pickup the tripod (from the back side) and move it to a new position. Most times, I can simply leave the sprinkler running and move it, since I don't need to push it into the ground. The tripod is very sturdy. If the sprinkler is being placed onto a slight hill or uneven ground, it is easy to re-adjust the height of the tripod legs, so that the sprinkler head is position in a generally level position. I highly recommend this product, because it is well built and much easier to use than my previous sprinkler head.

Nice Unit, but not "heavy duty." Pin broke, but company backed its warranty!
UPDATE: 10/15/2020: After 2 months, and 3 uses (and just past the Amazon Return date), a small tripod pin broke. That pin attaches the flat “horizontal” metal piece to the central axis “ring” - that then allows the legs to be spread out (to tripod status) or adduct (to storage status). That said, one call to Orbit and a remedy was immediately obtained. They certainly stand behind their product! > ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a reasonably sturdy little unit that has a good feeling as you open or collapse the legs. Seems well build. I take care with it as I don't believe it was designed for rough or abusive treatment. Seems like if you treat it nice, it will last. I only get maybe 30-40 ft of throw with the water, but then I don't have the best water pressure in the village. I like how it works and sets up / adjusts better than any of my ground-based sprinklers. Stows away nicely. I am a bit concerned as to how the hose hooks up will hold up - so I plan on attaching a quick release system to it eventually. Got this after my die-hard Tractor model died. I wanted something different this time. Glad I got this. Would buy another if putting a second one on my water system would not cut my pressure by half! Good value for the money.

Sprinkler head is junk
The tripod is the only usable part of this. I wanted a good brand and bought the better all brass model. Unfortunately we bought it last year and wound up only trying it once. Now we need it and after maybe 5-6 uses it refuses to keep moving. I put lots of oil down the swivel stem below the head, and it ran okay for 10 minutes before the sticking resumed. Then I took the head off and lubricated the seals at the bottom so they'd move easily against one another and the brass parts. Worked great for a half hour, then same as before. I found an old (early 1980's or older) Rain-Bird head that my Dad had stored away, so I installed it, no clean-up, no lube, just as it was for at least 35 years since my long-departed father removed it from its base and hung it there. Started right up and works fine. Better action and spray pattern too, without the top deflector flap that you have to play with on the Orbit. Just a screw that's very effective. Waters on both directions too. Rather than zipping back quickly it moves more slowly on the return and waters the area closer to the head. This is what I expected. It's from the days when most substantial tools were made in the USA and known companies didn't put their name on Chinese garbage. But Orbit customer support is attentive and nice - great people. They're supposed to replace it whenever the boat arrives from China with more. If they'd open up a plant here in the USA again and hire some Americans they wouldn't have such high warrantee replacement expenses.

Nice for the price. Definitely recommend for large areas
I really like this sprinkler so far. You can adjust what direction it goes and it's not hard to do. We just planted grass in our yard last fall, and this summer has been hot with no rain. I wish I'd have had this weeks ago to help water the grass and garden. Only thing, I believe its advertised to spray around 90 ft radius. It doesn't go that far. Somewhere around 60 ft maybe, and thats on good high water pressure. If its spraying in just one direction, it reaches about 25-30 ft. The sprinkler itself, once it finally got here, has been great. Waited over a week for it to come, the day it was supposed to arrive they sent a mattress instead. Amazon sent the replacement faster than planned (I was originally going to have to wait another week for the replacement to come). Still had to wait another 2 days for it. Not great with dying grass and garden.

Doesn't work.
It's a shame it didn't work, because the tripod itself appears to be quite workable. When the sprayer got to it's set limit on the return run, that it does quite quickly, the reversing lever tripped as it should but the sprayer head just stalls there shaking.. Have to say, I thought I was buying an American product after reading all the "bumph" and seeing as it came from Ohio in the USA. Had I realised it was manufactured in China I would not have ordered it in the first place, too many bad experiences from their products..

UK customers should avoid....
After about 30 mins under mains pressure, heaad stopped circulating. Not fit for purpose And to add insult to injury, I'd missed the fact that it was sourced in the US, so would have had to pay postage to the US for return of defective item Wholly unsatisfactory

Worth the Extra
By far the best tripod impulse sprinkler I've had in fifty years of gardening. Perfectly stable despite no prongs to stick into grass. Only slight problem is the need for a male thread connector to join to a standard hozelock hose.

No instructions
Good quality and very sturdy tripod, just a shame that there are no instructions on how to adjust coverage. Delivered in just a plain bow with nothing on there either.

Well made
A well made product that works very effectively once you've mastered how it operates. Not easy to fathom - even with 'instructions' on the box.
