Awesome RC, do not get the boost edition

Stay with the 550 mega, its more expensive to go the Boost route upgrades. Go with the brushed 550 mega 4x4 and upgrade to brushless with your choice of esc and brushless motor when ever you feel comfortable doing it. These things hold up amazingly well for RTR bashers. I have two and ran them pretty hard. Nothing has broken yet and I am in the 50mph range.

Best entry level rc truck for the price.

The media could not be loaded. Was debating between the Traxxas stampede and the Arma Granite. But given the 4wd upgradability on the Arma by adding the kit which is 40 bucks . It makes this a better value. Because the rwd Stampede cannot be upgraded to 4wd. The truck handles very well on cement and jumps really well. It handles typically on dirt with the current rwd setup. The trucks durability seems pretty good. The speed of the brushed motor is about 25 to 30 mph plenty to have fun. Just get a decent battery pack and your set. The Rcs remote is pretty cool ergonomic. Overall very nice truck . Arma makes quality Rcs.

Great First Hobby RC!

This is a great RC to get into the hobby with. It is easy to work on, there are upgrade paths available if you wish to do so, which teaches you fairly easily to make the move from brushed to brushless power. One tip, you will most likely need the 3S BLX Granite slipper assembly if you plan to upgrade to 3S brushless power. Otherwise everything is fairly easy to work on, a great starter truck! It is more cost efficient to buy the 3S BLX Granite from the beginning if you want that power and can afford it right away. Otherwise you get a good price for this setup and can upgrade later for a higher all in cost. I love mine!
