I just installed a lift in my garage. Perfect for the job. I need to order another

Easy to modify to use with Maxjax mid rise lift
It arrived completely in tact and in good condition, although the plastic wrap on the screw could have been better applied to keep the small aount of rust it inherited in shipping at bay. I have found supports that I can put under my axle on Amazon that work with the MaxJax if I only want to have it half way up to maximum height but the mid rise lift is short enough already. I wanted a support that I could use at max height on the lift and the shortest of these only just barely work for a few applications at the minimum adjustment setting so it's far from useful that way. There's a trans jack you can modify for use so I looked at all these support stands for one that's easy to modify and this one looked worth trying out. The way it's constructed the 12" base has a threaded boss that there is a short tube that threads in and then the main body of the pole slips inside it and has a pin with a hitch pin that attaches to it. I had planned on cutting the main pole shorter and re drilling it to hold it inside the threaded tube. The adjustment screw on the main body is very long and it means if you want to re-bolt the base you can only shorten it 8-10" at most. However, the main pole is constructed of a thick wall welded seam tube that is not super round, so the manufacturer appears to have turned it down a bit so it has a round profile and slip fit into that threaded in base tube. After cutting it shorter I had to sand down the exterior on my belt sander to git a very tight interference fit that required a good bit of persuasion with a block of wood and sledge hammer to drive home. There is convieniently a lip at the bottom of the base for it to sit snug against. I may plug weld it in through the former pin hole but it's not going anywhere and I can still unscrew the outer tube if I need to take it apart. This method gives you another 5 or 6" if you need to cut it shorter if you want to keep the full screen length and it's sturdier than the original intended assembly method, if you need to go shorter you will have to cut the screw, if you shorten it much take note of the roll pin they have near the end to keep you from screwing it all the way out under load as it's a nice safety feature.

Impressed by value of Arcan so far
Between this and an Arcan speed Jack I have, I’m impressed by the quality of the two products at the price point. They certainly aren’t the cheapest out there, but weighing the build and price point, I would say it’s an absolute value. Before I bought their Jack from Home Depot never really knew of Arcan. Then I needed this hoist to brace my camper during storage. It’s solidly built, don’t have concerns of it failing on me, and didn’t cost an arm and leg. Maybe the base can be even heavier or wider to deal with slightly uneven load on slightly uneven surfaces. But those are more design choices I think.

They could at least clean the threads!
Well I've used it for a few months now and right off they left a lot of metal in the groves which make it a little difficult to move up and down. Another thing is it's just too short which is my fault but when you get it extended enough for you can actually walk under a car it's not so sturdy to say the least. But I do like it for the most part. I wouldn't buy it again but that's just because of the hight.
