Makes the job easier
Great for poking holes in pork skin to make crispy roast pork. This tool cuts the time for that task by 10X ! Easy to put away too and not worry about getting jabbed when not in use.

limpiarlo no es tan sencillo
no es tan sencillo lograr una limpieza de las agujas debido a que no se pude acceder a las que estan en el centro, por lo demas funciona muy bien.

Well constructed product. Review after 3 months of use.
I bought this tenderizer to pierce the pork belly skin. This is a hard skin and difficult to penetrate, however by applying a lot of force I can pierce. If the tips were a little sharper or thinner I think it would be easier to penetrate the meat. However, I give it 4 stars because it seems to be a well constructed and easy to use product.

Effective
I've used this little device for preparing meats going in my slow cooker in particular. With a fork in my left hand and the tenderizer in the right, I punch down on the meat and then press down with the fork at the base of the tenderizer's spikes while pulling up on it. Once in a rhythm, I can work over the whole piece of meat in a few seconds. Then, without disturbing the open holes, I sprinkle on the meat whatever spices I'm using and then add some liquid from the recipe, such as soy sauce, or I drizzle some of the juices that will go in the slow cooker, such as tomato juice from a can of diced tomatoes. That will get the spices down in the meat (or powdered tenderizer, which I rarely use). I've found this tenderizer to be effective, at least as much as using a fork to stab the meat repeatedly. It will prepare meats for the grill as well. Cleanup isn't really difficult, especially if you swish it in hot, detergent water right after using. A brush will clean it from the side, or you can retract the guard and brush it from the tips of the spikes. Be careful. They're pretty sharp. My first use was on 0.3" breakfast steaks. Because the steaks were so thin, I tenderized them in the styrofoam packaging which I laid on top of a cutting board. For the most part, the spikes didn't go down into the board. Thick meats wouldn't require being careful about what's underneath.

So far, so good.
I was skeptical buying this due to some of the problems mentioned in some of the reviews. I have only used it a few times so far and can only review based on these few experiences with it. I will update the review if anything goes wrong. First, I was a bit surprised to see that the metal spikes were not so pointy or sharp. They are actually more rounded on the tips. They do jab down into the meat perfectly well though. It works as I think it should so far - you jab down and the spikes stab into the meat. The white disc raises as you go into the meat, so that the spikes fully enter. The only complaint I have is that it does get stuck often when pulling it back out of the meat. It could just be the meat though - I don't know? I've never used one of these before, but I guess I expected to go pretty quickly along, jabbing away, but you can't because you have to stop after about every other jab and pull the meat off of the spikes. I may have had the wrong idea in general on how it would/should work. Other than that, it seems fine so far. I have not (yet) had an issue with rust or any water or blood, etc building up in the handle area. To clean it, I hold the handle and swish it around vigorously in a sink full of really hot soapy water. I don't let it soak or lay under water. I try to dry it completely after use and I hang it on a hook afterwards with the spikes facing downward.

Exactly as advertised.
Works like my old one. If it lasts as long, I'll not need another one.

Good tenderizer at bargain price
This works very well for meats that aren't too thick. For thicker roasts I "spike" both sides. These spike tenderizers help marinades to penetrate the meat, too, as well as providing some tenderizing. It's tricky to clean, but then it really doesn't pick up bits of the meat, so a thorough soaking in hot soapy water, or putting it in the dishwasher, works fine. The design makes it pretty safe to handle and use, too. As far as I can see, it's as good as those that cost double the price.
