Pretty decent speaker with cool options even if not Bose quality
Not a bad lantern for camping, but not the best speaker. Multiple lighting options are offered as well as no light at all and only using this as a speaker. A USB charging cord is included, and there is a little red light on the back which indicates if the lantern has finished charging. A very small metal handle is attached on the bottom to allow this to be hung up, but no lanyard or hanging cord is included. It's lightweight with good battery life. You can light the inside of a tent, or use for background music outside around a campfire. If you can't make a campfire, just set the light on the flame mode and use one of those sleep apps that has various sounds like rain, wind, etc., and set it on the 'crackling fire' sound. It's not the same as a real campfire, but it does in a pinch! The Bluetooth speaker was very easy to pair. Not only can you stream music, podcasts, audiobooks, and so on, but you can take calls on this speaker as well. Control buttons are on the front bottom of the lantern, as well as the button to let you change between Bluetooth, auxiliary, and TF modes. I like that you can take your own micro-SD card filled with music or whatnot and play it on this speaker without needing to connect with Bluetooth. The speaker is located on the top of the lantern, so sound only comes out through the top and is quite one directional. Speaker quality isn't horrible. You can't adjust any of the levels for tone or base or anything. What you hear is what you get. The controls let you perform the basics like fast forward or rewind, and that's it. To change the lantern light from flickering flame to solid color, just tap the black screen portion of the speaker on top of the light. Between taps it will cycle through various colors like red, blue, green, purple, etc., then go to a slow fade or a fast fade, then to white. A long tap (put your finger on top and hold for a couple of seconds) will shift the light back to the flame setting. A long tap will also adjust the brightness of the light when it's on the colored or white light settings. You can turn the light off by pressing the button on the front bottom of the speaker, or by switching the slide switch on the back. I get why the price is what it is ($30). It's a Bluetooth speaker that is supremely portable with multiple light functions that can also take phone calls, run off battery power, is rechargeable, can connect with auxiliary, or use a SD card to play music. This is an affordable option that allows you to have a speaker (and light) in places where you wouldn't want to take a much more expensive wireless Bluetooth speaker. A great option for kids as well since it provides them with some cool options for a nightlight, a 'fire' for indoor camping, and a decent wireless speaker that if damaged or broken isn't a major financial loss.

Not terrible, Not Amazing. Lighting is better than the sound.
Cool light, sound gets muffly above 60-75% volume. Not bad for a $15 dollar speaker, don't pay more than that though.

Nothing to write home about
I can't say I'm at all impressed with this speaker. For the last year I've been using a Coleman OneSource Bluetooth speaker that has broadly the same dimensions as this one, and while it retails at around twice the price it's also good enough that it's become my favourite speaker for daily use. That's the measure of a good outdoor speaker, that it offers the sort of sound quality you'd want to carry with you when you return indoors. The speaker here feels like an afterthought. It's extremely directional, mounted to the top of the device and facing upwards, so you only get clear, crisp sound if you're standing directly above it. If you're a few feet to the side the mids will sound muddy. I suffer from severe tinnitus and often struggle to hear lyrics clearly, but with this speaker I didn't bother trying. The lantern is OK. The candlelight feature seems realistic, and I can see how I'd enjoy sitting at the entrance to my tent with this thing glowing away. There's a small handle on the base that you can use to either carry or suspend the speaker, which is a nice touch. Another reviewer mentioned that the lantern has several modes other than candlelight. As a rule I don't read the manual when testing a product as I want to determine how user-friendly they are, and all I can tell you is that I've yet to discover the button combo that will change the lantern setting. I wouldn't dissuade anyone from buying this if they're on a budget and looking for something cheap and cheerful, but for not much more there are many superior options available. The Coleman OneSource is an excellent speaker, though its built in light lacks the brightness of the Real Tree.

Nifty But Could be Louder
This speaker looks nice and the lighting effects look cool, with three different light modes. The first mode is the realistic looking flame flicker that looks nice. The second mode is an RGB mode where you can choose from multiple colors or have it automatically cycle through them. The third mode is a white lantern mode that can be changed between 3 different brightness levels. Do note that the instructions DO NOT even mention that there are different lighting modes, much less how to access/change them. I had to figure it out myself. For your information, to do so you have to tap on the speaker top itself to change the lights. Besides the great lighting effects everything else seems to be more subpar to my expectations. The sound output is not loud enough to be useable outside unless its practically right next to you, it is better suited to smaller indoor settings like I have done with in my garage. Also even though the speaker build quality is not rugged, rather the whole unit is plastic making it feel more hesitant to use it outdoors.
