Excellent and Economical

Crescent 8" Pro Series Diagonal Compound Action Dual Material Cutting Pliers - PS5429C I work on school busses as a fleet tech and do a lot of hydraulic brake lines as they rust out in the north east. I use these bad larrys to cut out all the old rusty lines quickly and I can't kill them. They get soaked in brake fluid and the grips haven't come apart. They aren't as sharp 2 years later but still work great and for 16$ you just can't go wrong. My snap on cutters don't have the leverage and working in a fast paced environment I'm not worried about losing them like i would with an 80$ snap on side cutter. I just bought a second pair for my home tool box.

Handy, but made in China.

Crescent knock-off! Perhaps the cutter strength will measure up to Crescent standard, but I doubt it. I bought it because of the name!

Definitely better leverage

These pliers definitely have better leverage than standard pliers without the compound closing action. My unscientific test was cutting off 16 penny nails coming through the top plate after tearing down a wall. I have many side cutters, and I tried them side by side. These pliers were significantly easier to shear the nails with

These are great but don't cut big cables with them I went through 2 pair both snapped in half. I broke one trying to cut a 25mm single core cable...let's face it you can't abuse them.
