Thrilled with this!

This is my second one as I loved the first one so much. It’s sturdy and looks way more expensive. Enough light to read from and it looks super classy. Looks nice just about anywhere.

beautiful!

I wanted a lamp that was different and this fit the bill. It has straight, clean lines that fit in with almost any design style (modern, transitional, modern farmhouse, contemporary) ... I only gave four stars for sturdiness because it is quite light-weight but, that having been said, I don't want a heavy lamp that will hurt a small dog or damage my floor if it were to fall. I love it!

Great Lamp for the Price

Lamp was easy and quick to assemble. My parts did not come with letters attached so in case yours is similar, the half leg that gives you a lip when you assemble (also has a little felt attached) goes at the top per the picture. My only complaint is that it's a little wobbly - I might get some felt or rubber feet for the bottom to make it a little more stable. But for the price - wow - very nice.

Overpriced and cheap-looking

What a ripoff! The fabric of the shade, which has vertical lines in it, is crooked and pilled and the base does not stay put on the surface: it slides and spins whenever it's touched. Looks great in the photos, but its a really overpriced piece of junk.

Affordable retro looking lamp

I was going for a mid century look when I bought a pair of these. They unfortunately didn't work for me as they were too bulky and tall for the space I planned to use them. Mine arrived well packaged. They are a very affordable price. Aesthetically, they work as mid-century but I think they look better from afar than up close. Up close, with the combination of the dark stained wood, pull chain and beige shade, they have a bit of a generic vibe to them like something that was in a hotel back in the 70's. I think I am used to seeing some sort of brass or other metal accent that would otherwise give them a bit of shine.

As soon as I started putting the lamp together I knew that it was going lose its pre-planned prestigious location in the living room and get demoted to the guest bedroom. I saw pictures of this lamp on several websites and thought it was beautiful. I wondered how such a lovely piece could be so cheap. Fellow Amazon users, if you have this feeling, it’s usually for a reason and in this particular case it’s because IT IS cheap. What you can’t see in any picture is that the lamp legs are actually 10 pieces, including the top and bottom flat pieces, that have to be screwed together. By itself this is not really a problem until you realize that the holes are both misaligned and poorly cut with very rough edges. The lamp was difficult to screw together in several spots and the roughly cut screw holes are unattractive and easily seen when the light is on. The shade is the most attractive part of the lamp but it’s very flimsy and easily dented or creased. Something I failed to realize when looking at the pictures is the cord hangs down in the middle of the lamp which drives me crazy. I take some responsibility here. I don’t know where I thought the cord was going to be; I guess maybe I dreamed it would be hidden as if my magic or mind trickery. Lastly, the felt pads stuck to the bottom legs were pathetic and fell off before assembly was even finished. I would take it apart and return it but I’m honestly so annoyed with it that I just put it in the guest bedroom and don’t want to be bothered with it now.
