It worked great for 6 months
Installed in my commercial laundromat because my employees kept leaving the water open. Worked great for 6 but it now leaks all the time. I'm giving it 4 stars and buying again because even though it now leaks, my water bill went down $500 every 3 months, I've saved $1000 worth of water here in NYC thanks to this device so it was definitely worth the 50 bucks I paid for it. I just ordered another one to replace the leaking unit and looking forward to getting another 6 months out of the new one.

Breaks
I have purchased two of these. They covering over the button has broken both times. To keep it working I have to keep covering the break with tape to keep water out of it.

The media could not be loaded. My dog learned his love of faucet drinking and expected me to be available to turn it on at his whim. I would hear him biting the faucet, annoyed, until I got up to turn it on. Enter this little gadget! He figured it out easily and it has worked great. The only issue has been if too much water gets on the sensor (which happens with a tongue that big), it won't turn off until it dries some, or you wipe it off. Never had an issue with it not turning off though. I originally got this in Jan 2020 and has worked great until last week when the sensor has stopped working. I don't know that I can chalk that up to construction.. its very possibly a canine user issue. I only say this to say that despite the fact that it stopped... I am back here to buy a replacement because it's that awesome and worth it. Hopefully if you don't have a sloppy dog using it, I imagine it would last a lot longer.

Stopped working after 2 months (EDIT)
The media could not be loaded. Updated review March 5, 2016: After using the product for 2 months, the sensor sometimes did not respond. I would hear the usual click, but the valve wouldn't open and no water would come out. I took out the batteries and tested them with a voltmeter. All four were 1.52 V, good as new. Then I unscrewed the adapter from the faucet and removed a couple of pieces of debris in the aerator. Didn't help. I've been using the product in my bathroom sink, and I'm the only person who uses it (besides my cat). I frequently change the flow rate of hot and cold water. Most of the time, I leave it on a trickle setting so my cat can drink from it whenever she wants. My guess is that the check valve inside the unit went bad. The only way to fix it is to pay $10 to ship it to iTouchless and wait 30 days for them to send it back. I don't think it's worth it if I'm going to have to do the same thing 2 months later. I searched online for other automatic faucets with a variable flow rate. The best one that I found also has critical reviews, where the faucet stops working after a few months because of problems with the solenoid valve. Maybe these automatic valves don't handle variable flow rates very well. It was nice while it lasted, and my cat enjoyed it. Now I'm back to turning on the faucet for her and having to remember to turn it back off again :/ Here is my original 5-star review from Jan 4, 2016: ----------------------------------------------------- Success!! Now my kitty can drink whenever she wants and I don't have to remember to turn off the water when she's done! And I can save water when I brush my teeth! :D It's a little bulky, and it makes an obvious click sound every time the sensor is triggered. But it works great! It's easy to adjust the water pressure and temperature by turning the faucet handles. This usually isn't an option for full-fledged automatic faucets (why not?). Make sure your batteries aren't dead or else it won't work right, fyi. Also, the housing seems to be made of plastic instead of metal like in the description. I don't mind that, especially since there aren't very many alternative products out there. (I live in an apartment, so I didn't want to replace my entire faucet.) The connector is metal of course, and a thick rubber washer is included in case you need one for your faucet. I installed it a couple of days ago with brand new alkaline batteries. To accommodate my cat, I set the cold water handle to a slow flow setting. When I want to wash my hands, I use the hot water handle. My kitty was apprehensive at first, but after I put my hand in front of it to turn it on, she decided to drink. After a couple of days, she's gradually warming up to it. It's important that pets always have access to water, and they love a fresh running stream.

works well. Works TOO well.
More about the cats. They have a fascination for the faucet. They turn their noses up at the water bowl after its been sitting a few hours. (WHAT, did it get stale already??) So I thought, ok, instead of standing here like a moron attending to the dripping faucet so I don't forget to turn it off after they are done drinking, Ill get this. Because once I actually stood there like a moron with my hand out letting water collect in it so they could drink from my HAND. It had gone too far. So I figured this would rescue me from my subservient moron-hood. It is solid and well made. It works. it works too well. Puss, puss, puss, puss and puss (there are 5) learned to use it right away. The first day they were happy to drink from it. The second day they would go turn it on whenever they would get bored laying around or trying to bum food. So EVERY TIME any of them were bored they would go turn this on just to watch it. They wouldn't drink, they would just keep sticking a paw or nose under it, 'making it go' and then watch the water. Then do it again. And again. I felt bad our cats were so bored they resorted to watching water run. I took it off the downstairs faucet and put it in our bedroom bathroom instead. Where --I-- am using it, muahahaha.

Great for cats
Struggled at first trying to use rechargeable batteries. Switched to Lithium and they last forever (I don't know, it's been over a year and still fine). The water flow is greatly reduced but we leave it set to trickel anyway for the cat, in the bar sink. Works good for that.

Nice touchless faucet
Easy to install and setup. works well. it takes a bit of time to set the water while you flush toilet. I found that you have to flush toilet to set this up as the cold water pressure is different once the toilet has stopped filling. Be careful as I almost burned myself when I did not flush toilet because the cold water pressure is different.

Good idea, extremely poor design
The media could not be loaded. The idea of having a "cat faucet" is very good but there are many flaws with the design. Firstly the faucet is made with very poor material (cheap plastic, cheap metal-looking surfaces, cheap batter compartment...), secondly, the faucet would not fit into our vanity faucet because the threading part was too short so it would hardly grab our faucet. After much effort it grabbed onto our faucet but the poor thread quality (it was angled and weak) it went in in an angle, and it wasn't snug no matter how much we tightened it. The final result was a loose and leaky "EZ Faucet". It took us a long time to take it off and when we did, the integrity of our own faucet was damaged so our bathroom faucet itself is now leaking and can't take its old head. We are trying to get a replacement regular bathroom faucet from Amazon as our own is now damaged. I would stay away from this product until they do major improvements.

Works Well
I have only had this item for a short time but so far it is working well. When working in the kitchen it is great. Rather than having the water running continually when washing/rinsing dishes, cleaning up, making sausage, trimming meat, cooking, etc I can quickly rinse my hands, knives or whatever without wasting water. It should pay for itself in no time by the money I will save in water and water heating. Update Jan 13, 2013 We have had three of these. They have all malfunctioned after about 6 months. I do not know for certain why but I suspect that it is due to the hard water in our area. I have tried taking them apart and cleaning them but they still do not work correctly. Due to the cost of the item we no longer use anything on our faucet. I sure wish I could get them to work again!
