Half unusable

Of the balloons purchased 2 had holes already in when purchased...1 broke in half and they all very easily popped aa if they were an older balloon..

Squealing Piggy’s and kids

This was so fun. The kids got a kick out of it! Hard to blow up for younger kids but lots of fun to watch fly. The quality was so so. We had 3 pop before even flying but the ones that flew were hilarious.

The rocket balloons are a lot of fun. My dog can be entertained for hours which entertains the grandkids for a few minutes. The included pump is useless, however. The nozzle is too big for the small opening on the balloons. I stuck mine into a manual pencil sharpener to shave off a bit of the tip. Unfortunately the tip bit is very poorly attached to the rest of the pump and tends to come off even when glued. I have tried several glues with no success. In summary, the balloons are fun, the pump is useless. I suggest buying the refill pack and foregoing the pump although the balloons are nearly impossible to inflate without a pump. Get a nice pump from Qualatex.

Balloons have a high infant mortality rate.

I bought this rocket balloon package because it was the most cost-effective way I could find at the time to get replacement balloons for the smaller sets we had bought on close-out this summer at Jo-Ann Fabrics. However the balloons that came with the Toysmith set have a much higher initial breakage rate than those that came with the other sets I have. At least a third of the balloons we've used so far have either had small pinholes or burst upon the first inflation. Stretching the balloons before inflating seems to help a bit but we still continue have many more break than with the balloons we purchased from Jo-Ann's, where only a three or four have burst during first inflation (out of five sets of ten balloons.) The ones that make it to launch are really, really fun and can be used multiple times. I must say I was surprised and pleased with the pump that came with this set. It is much larger than the ones that came with the other sets. This, plus the fact it inflates on both the pull and push strokes, inflates the balloons much faster than those other smaller one-way pumps.

Latex thinner and cheap!

Well, reviews were accurate. Items delivered as promised. Awesome. But, and there's always a but, The first two balloons I took out lasted about one pump up. The first one had a hole in it, and the second one lasted one entire launch then blew up-literally exploding before it even got filled up! So yes, the latex is a really thin so caution to all of you considering this product. I don't know if there's another hotdog shaped balloons out there that I can use for science experimentsthat actually works with some sort of thicker latex wall but I'd sure like to know.

Best Toy Ever!

For the price, of course.... My kids and the dozens of kids we have entertained at many different playgrounds, have gotten so much enjoyment out of this product!!! The balloons are reusable until they pop, so this kit lasts a really long time. They rarely pop from being over-inflated. You can inflate until you get past the stripes to the solid colored inlet. They do pop on concrete and grass (if inflated), but they are deflated when they land, so it is only a concern just before launch. Be careful buying replacement balloons from toy stores/party stores because they are a bit smaller and have a shorter flight time as a result. We have been using ours for years, and have needed only one pack of replacement balloons so far. Can't remember what site we used to buy them, but definitely purchased them online. We keep the pump and 5 or 10 balloons in a plastic bag in the car, and we pull it out whenever the kids are with other kids that they don't know on a playground. It's a great ice-breaker! The kids immediately hear the buzzing sound of a launched balloon and track it across the sky. The balloons are easy to run after and catch on their descent, and each flight is different depending on wind conditions. My son has sometimes put small amounts of water in them to watch the water spray out the back, and he has done other creative things to modify the flight of these balloons. They can be used indoors, but I do not think our cat would review them as kindly as I have!

Stinky, Rotten and defective

Where should I start... ok... let's start with the box opening... as soon as I opened the box I thought... this is going to be a great old fashioned toy to share with my grandson ... so in front of my grandson (he is 2 1/2) we began... I opened the bag inside the box and it hit me... the stench of rotting flesh... my daughter said it was akin to the smell of dead starfish (not quite sure when she had the opportunity to smell such a thing but alas...this was quite apropo) I on the other hand thought it smelled like dirty old ass (and before you ask when I might have had the opportunity to smell such a thing... I haven't... this is what I imagine such a thing would smell like) I forged forward and tried to take one balloon out to blow it up and they were like they were put in an oven ... they were stuck together... in a huge balloon orgy... all melded together...and when I tried to pull them apart they just ripped ... When I actually was able to get one separated and use the pump... the first balloon popped immediately... the second one did as well... the third one stayed intact... then the pump broke... I mean... seriously?... I was looking for an old fashioned toy... but a modern take on it... not an actual toy from 1950...anywho... DO NOT buy this!!.

The grandchildren enjoy the balloon crazy flights and noises! We've used smaller kits before, but the number of popped balloons and the tedious small pumps have been discouraging. Many of these balloons still burst while being filled or after just a few flights, but having 85 available makes it seem less disappointing. The larger pump which fills on BOTH pumping strokes is the kit's best feature. Much better than the smaller pumps provided in other kits. The improved pump alone makes the kit pricing a better deal. Good purchase, just don't expect balloons to last very long. In all fairness, we've tried to use other balloons (even with reducing nozzles), but the heavier material weight doesn't allow Upward flight.

Stay away

Horrible... only about 10 balloons were usable rest were melted/stuck together with glue. The air pump came broken as well. Was a Christmas gift as well, definitely a waste of money.

Do not purchase

I would like to give this product zero stars. DO NOT BUY. The pump was broken in two sharp pieces and the the balloons were melted together in a large lump of rubber and were unusable. Complete waste of money.

Disappointed

Terrible quality, the balloons were actually melted together and all but 8 were unusable. The 'pump' broke on the first balloon. DON'T BUY.
