GREAT FOR SMALL DOGS TOO!
Well made and very easy to assemble. I added four 1” wood blocks to the bottom, so it does not sit directly on the ground. I decided to keep one roof panel unscrewed, which makes it very easy to clean (it’s under a porch, in a protected area from the weather). Our 10lb Shih Tzu loves it!

Nice little shelter with a few additions.
I posted a bunch of pictures to show what I did. I first insulated the 2 sides, the floor and the roof, but saw no point in insulating the exit/entrance walls with those huge doors...kinda pointless. I painted 2 coats of paint and 2 coats of polyurethane. The floor that comes with this is really, really thin. I don't see how it could possibly support a cat and not eventually sag out of the channels they're inserted into. So, like a previous reviewer did, I cut a piece of 1/2" plywood just slightly smaller than the flooring, wrapped that with a garbage bag stapled on and used E6000 adhesive and 4 screws to attach it to floor from the inside. The plastic should give more protection on the floor and the thin floor can't sag now. I used wood glue in all the joints before connecting them. I also put a bead of E6000 down the peak of the roof because there was a bit of the raw birch edge exposed at the peak and if that got wet the boards would warp. I also tested the heating pad and it worked great! Toasty warm. This is for a cat I have been feeding for the last 3 years. I thought she was a feral but this past summer she has decided she likes me and is just way too sweet and friendly now to be a feral, so she was abandoned by someone 3 years ago. ???? She now comes in my house every morning to eat, sleep, play and get some love, but doesn't like staying inside more than a few hours, hence this house. This will go under a 5 ft. eave, sitting on a little outdoor end table so she's off the ground and will be against my house in front of my sliding glass door so she can see me. Hopefully she'll be protected enough, but we face East, so we get some brutal winds and extremely cold winter weather. I'll post another picture of the set up after I put it out tomorrow... Just in time for the cold weather next week. I just hope she'll use it! Nice little house, but definitely needs reinforcement on the thin floor. I have some cedar siding I plan to put on the roof next Spring. Maybe I'll add that with a larger overhang for more protection from the weather. 2 thumbs up and I'll update after winter is over to let people know how well it worked and lasted.

Very easy to put together
Very easy to put together. It's a thinner wood and not insulated so I recommend adding thin Styrofoam or straw to help. I had extra shingles in my garage that I put on the roof for added protection.

The heating pad is small
The main issue I have is only a portion pad is heated. It is deceiving in the photo. I expected the entire pad to be heated. The cat house is easy to assemble and sturdy. I sealed one end.

Good Sturdy House At An Affordable Price
This is a very nice little house and quite pretty. It's the perfect size for one cat and the heater works well. It does not come with assembly instructions but it's a very straightforward puzzle to put together. The only annoying thing is that, although they drilled holes in all of the connecting spots, they did not drill corresponding holes in the places that you screw those parts to. The wood is not soft so I had to locate a drill to create those holes. I also had to locate my husband, as, at least in our case, assembly was awkward enough that it took two people to put the house together. That is why I didn't give it the maximum number of stars for easy assembly. That said, it's just lovely once it's built. We bought this for an outdoor feral so I put it on our porch. It's weatherproof to a point but our covered porch does not say totally dry so I placed it up on a large, flat plastic basket to keep the bottom dry. The birchwood does not appear to be finished for really wet, Illinois weather so I wrapped a folded contractor bag around it, which works really well. You could easily paint it with exterior paint but I got it in December and just wanted to get it out quickly. I'll probably paint in in Spring. I only put one of the flaps on, at the back, because our feral spooks easily. It didn't take long for her to warm up to this little house and she eats all her meals there. I'm hoping she'll begin to hang out in it too, but she also has a much bigger, straw filled home that she has lived for a few years. All in all, I'd recommend this shelter. It's sturdy, lovely to look at and the price is right.

My outdoor cat took to it right away and it was easy to assemble.
I just put it out today and my outdoor cat took to it right away. It only took me 20 minutes or so to put it together and it was easy with the slots and screws. I also cut two pieces of carpet squares to cover the two sides of the roof for additional warmth and took a third carpet piece to put under the box. Then I cut a shorter piece of carpet and used a staple gun to tack that over the door, creating about a 2-1/2 inch over hand for additional protection for weather. I may not use the door flap for the front door because I don't think the cat will go in if it's there. Or I may cut the flap so that the bottom half is open for the cat to go in. The only gap I had was in the space between the walls and the roof and I think that is more for ventilation than anything else. I would emphasize that they recommend using this in a protected area and not out in a weather exposed place. Mine is on my porch under the awning, somewhat protected from wind, rain and snow. I would recommend getting the right size Philips screwdriver to make it easier and put it together somewhere you can easily clean up the plywood particles that come off and you work. It is plywood and the description in Amazon makes it sound like it is solid wood. Not so. But that makes it lighter and easier to put the screws in. The floor is slightly elevated but I put the carpet down to protect the wood side panels from water damage. UPDATE: It has been several months and the cat has taken over the little house. She is there is the morning and at night, only leaving to go catch a mouse or adventuring. The heated pad works really well. However, we are supposed to get near record temps tonight so I will check on the cat a couple of times to see that she is okay. On cold days in the past she has been fine. But this is supposed to be brutal. All in all, I am completely satisfied with the purchase.

Needed some tweaking for winter weather.
This could be better designed . It needs an overhang at the openings to keep wind, rain, and snow out. Or the openings could be redesigned to also help especially since the heating pad is only covering half the floor . We closed the opening at heated end and insulated the entire enclosure which really helped with -30C wind chill & blowing snow.

Nice cat house but use some additional fixes
Nice car house should be longer. They started to rot after winter season with rain fall, suspect that the paint/varnish they put on it was very lighten thin coated on barely protecting wood and cut ends. You should repaint and seal all the wood first to weather proof it better. The house is a little short and I think about 6-12 inches would make in right. Also the roof doesn’t over hang the entrances far enough it’s to short for all weather. Need to extend both side out 6-12inches to create a porch or overhang. It’s also sits to close the the ground Exposing to the elements easily but parts ok cause I have sitting on top of a couple of concrete sinder blocks Which help protect it from environment and ground cold better as well as bugs, critters. In addition to the pressure sensitive heated blanket for the winter cold month I also adding a continuous forced air heating system. Cat total loves especially when temps went to -22C.

A good cat house
We love this cat house, the reason I put 4 stars is because the doors doesn’t hold well as it is only in place with a stick on velcro
